Store bought flour AND corn tortillas?? Nooooo!! I was super excited to try this spot but couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked inside and saw a bag of Mission (or something similar) tortillas behind the counter that they were making burritos with. Store bought corn tortillas are more excusable, but nasty store bought tortillas for the burritos?? Yuck.
The Al pastor is good, the carne asada was really bad. No char, tasted boiled almost, no seasoning on it at all. Tacos: 3/10 Burritos: 4/10 Gringa: 5/10 Loaded Al Pastor nachos 8.7/10 (delicious! No nasty store bought tortillas to ruin these)
If you’re going to come, get the nachos or loaded fries and you’ll be very happy.
Praying you guys ditch the cheap nasty store bought tortillas. It’s a mockery of the rest of your food which is pretty good. Also, please grill the carne and season it.
Lastly, there are 4 parking spots outside the store so watch out for that. I got one of them luckily but saw lots of cars have to drive off and park...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible! This taco shop deserves every one of these five stars. I came in for a quick bite and ended up having one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
The al pastor is out of this world—perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. You can tell it’s been cooked with care and tradition. What really took it to the next level were their unique house-made sauces. Each one had a distinct personality, from smoky and spicy to tangy and refreshing, all elevating the tacos in different ways. I couldn’t pick a favorite!
The environment is warm, vibrant, and super clean. Whether you’re dining in or just grabbing a quick taco to go, the vibe is welcoming and authentic. And the customer service? Top-notch. The staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely passionate about their food. They even offered pairing suggestions with the sauces!
If you love tacos—or just good food in general—do not miss this place. I’m already planning...
Read moreIf you’re hunting for tacos in Salt Lake City, Top Taco deserves a spot on your list. This new taquería keeps the menu focused, al pastor and asada are the backbone, folded into tacos, burritos, quesadillas, loaded fries, and nachos.
The standout? Tacos al pastor. The pork is marinated and seared until it’s both tender and crispy on the edges, almost like carnitas or the charred bits from a barbecue pit. Every bite is smoky, savory, and brightened by fresh cilantro, onions, pineapple, and a squeeze of lime.
The vibe is casual but intentional, with a mural of a taquero at work setting the scene. Service is quick, friendly, and no-frills—order at the counter, give them your name, and wait for your basket of tacos to land.
Prices are refreshingly fair: four tacos and a bottled drink with tip came to just $19 on my visit. For dessert, the dulce de leche cake makes a...
