We came in yesterday, it was our anniversary. We ordered a double chicken enchilada dinner and a double beef taco dinner. With a side of their awesome tomatillo ranch and we asked for a side of their salsa fresca, I guess they did not hear. In fairness we were not charged so, obviously they did not hear. The staff was very nice and friendly. My husband's food was 8 out of 10, the chicken was a little dry and there was not enough sauce. Even though we offered to pay more for extra sauce. My beef tacos, we're not beef. They were 100% your pork. My mother-in-law gets your pork tacos and agrees they were the pork. I don't eat pork and so I was not able to eat anything other than the very small amount of rice and beans I was allotted. But oddly my husband got a lot of rice and beans. And it should be noted two different people made our food. So it could just be a training thing. Normally we love coming here and stopped going to the location in Murray because you guys are so spot-on. But the last couple times have been so subpar it's not worth it to come anymore. We drive further to go to your location. On one good note your strawberry limonada Is phenomenal. But it sucked to have your anniversary dinner ruined. So I don't know what to make of this, one meal was made pretty good, was missing a couple items, but all around was pretty good seven out of 10. But the other one is still sitting in my fridge because I won't eat it, And I intend to take it back. But I'm not a complainer. So it'll just end up getting thrown away and I will lose out on my money and it just sucks. And in the future I guess I will have to make them prove that they're putting beef and not pork. And before you put it on me, when you guys are busy you quickly pepper questions and as a customer you're trying to answer everything and pay attention to everything that's going on, but you just have to trust that they're doing what they're supposed to do because you were pushed through the line so quickly. There is no real way to resolve this, nobody answers their phone in restaurants anymore. You can try emailing companies and nothing happens or they force you to go to the app and you get nothing from it other than an apology. I think I deserve more than an apology for ruining our anniversary dinner. With my years of continued patronage, I'm just...
Read morestrongly disappointed with this Costa Vida location. I dined at the location in Orem yesterday and had such a good experience I was craving it again today. I came to this foothills Salt Lake location because it was close to where I was but clearly the staff is very different at this location. I was greeted by a guy who helped me but when I asked for chips and case so he said to ask down the line. I’ve been to enough Costa Vida locations and ordered chips and queso enough times to know that you ask the first person for chips and queso. Then the second person down the line just was standing there doing nothing until I had to get her attention to get my chips and queso and a side of medium sauce. Then finally after a bunch of confusion I got my quesadilla and finished my order. I had to specify every sauce was mine and everything I ordered because they got so confused with the other 2 people in line... they were not busy. I always fill out the survey for the FREE chips and queso and so my kids meal plus FREE chips and queso was $5. The older lady at the end of the line (who was the one confusing everything in the first place) literally look my receipt off of my tray to check the cashier because it was $5.... i’ve never seen something so uncomfortable or unprofessional. The cashier did his job perfectly and the total of $5 is what i’m used to with my normal order of a kids meal. I will not be returning back here. this location needs a serious employee meeting. Then comes the food when I sit down where the quesadilla was so soggy I didn’t even eat it and my chips were literally stale and it’s not even 2pm which means your “Made from scratch daily” slogan posted on the walls is a fluke. I won’t be returning here....
Read moreThis is one of several locations of Costa Vida. Costa Vida is not the original fast/ casual style of Mexican restaurant here in Utah which Cafe Rio started and others sort of copied them but added their own unique style to the mix. You order and select the individual ingredients for your entree as you make your way to the cash register, then have tables for seating. I like pretty much everything I have gotten here. Their salads are a staple for many who go here, with a Tostada being basically a smaller version of their salad. One of these salads is a full on meal with rice, beans and protein all in included. If you don't know about this style of mexican restaurant, you have probably been living under a rock somewhere. I joke with friends that eating there is sooooo 2010, but honestly, they have kept their offerings fresh and updated and still classic to their beginnings. We have one member of our family who is Celiac, so what we consider safe gluten free options when eating out are a HUGE aspect to our choices of where to go. Costa Vida is AMAZING and our person has never been "glutened" from any Costa Vida location. The moment she mentions that she needs her food gluten free, the employee immediately turns, strips off and throws away their current gloves and gets fresh gloves to start with. They then carefully track that food item through the line with either each person down the line doing the same action, or with just the one person handling that food item all the way to the cash register. This aspect alone makes this our go to choice for fast/casual mexican of this style. This particular location is nice and close to the mouth of parleys canyon and has an outside patio seating area that we...
