These bagels aren't even that good. Another bagel place in town could easily do better.
Management really needs to take better care of their workers. They seem to have them prioritizing online orders. I waited for about 15-20 minutes just to get a dozen uncooked, unsliced bagels. There was a line out the door the whole time. One of the people working there was not even taking orders she was only preparing online. The other person working there had to run the cash register AND prepare people's orders.
I don't care what system you have set up, it shouldn't take this long to take people's orders. It especially shouldn't require punching my order into the computer and then making me wait while you go pick out the bagels. Just go put the bagels in the bag as I tell you what I want. Every other bagel place in the world does it this way. I guess this bagel place needs to track their orders or something. just plug it in as I'm giving you my card.
It was pretty infuriating to wait 15-20 minutes for uncooked, unsliced bagels, then to be told hold on let me take your order, okay hold on let me prepare this for you. Totally unnecessary. Management needs a new policy because they're just wasting everyone's time and losing money.
PRIORITIZE CUSTOMERS IN STORE. If I took the time to drive all the way to your store, I don't want to see you preparing food for 5 online orders while I sit there waiting for 15 minutes for uncooked bagels. And if I see five garlic bagels in front of me, and I order to the five remaining garlic bagels, and then in the time it took for you to plug it into your computer the other lady there took one of those garlic bagels, tell her that I just ordered that bagel and it's not available for the online customer. Make the online customer change their order.
Like I said bagels aren't even that good. Trader Joe's everything...
Read moreThe flavors at the bagel project are five star caliber! The only thing detracting from this spot is it's location. I am a big Bialy fan and have yet to find a spot in Utah that does it right, except for the bagel project.
The staff are nice and great, but this business is clearly a small/local business so they never have more than 2 employees on site (at least every time I've eaten here) so as a result if there's a line you could be waiting a little bit, which usually wouldn't be a big deal but the bagel project doesn't have any seating inside. I did however see they added 4, 2 seater tables outside which is great and new since the last time I visited. Also parking is rough here so you may not luck out with a parking spot and will need to park a block away.
Overall the bagels are perfect, traditional east coast bagels. I got the egg bacon cheese sandwich and added "the works" (pesto, tomatoes, arugula, and red onions). This pretty much tastes identical to a bialy from New York! If you are a foodie or just a bagel junkie you have to give this place a try.
Just a heads up, they bake bagels fresh every morning only! They close early whenever they sell out (which happens often) so I recommend coming as close to opening especially if you are trying to get this...
Read moreI have to second the opinions of previous reviews for the Bagel Project, the service is horrendous. Every single time we go here, the same staff member who has previously been mentioned before, is so incredibly rude it’s honestly a jump scare. The location is close to our house and the bagels are pretty good, but it’s not worth coming here anymore to be berated with negativity from this staff. Never once have I had decent interactions with the staff members here, in the 4 months we have been coming multiple times a week. I work in the food industry and have for 11 years, and I have never worked along someone who has the attitude these people have. I’m not sure what the deal is but I know it’s hard to wake up early and work downtown, but unfortunately the phrase “the customer pays your bills” is accurate and customer service should be looked at as a way to expand your field of knowledge, your community, a way to get to know your town. If you hate it that much, maybe find a new job. Not trying to be the snarky one leaving a public review, but I figure it’s worth leaving one...
