I had high expectations from Rodizio's, not knowing much about it. I just moved here from Illinois, and we have a place called Fogo De Chau which is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...so I was looking for a replacement for that, I suppose. The environment at Rodizio's was loud and rambunctious - with lots of families (not a problem) and constant birthday singing. It reminded me of an Applebee's or something, not a place that was supposed to be as high end as Rodizio's touted. Let me throw in here that the birthday song they sing comes with LOUD drumming on a huge bongo. I cannot make this stuff up. The plastic/bamboo mats on the tables had me worried about the sanitary situation but the greasy 'I'm-ready-for-meat' wooden barbell that you're provided with nails that down. The meats were bland or BATHED in garlic - old garlic, not fresh - and most of the meats were quite fatty. The salad bar had a great selection but the fruits had fruit flies buzzing about, and there was quite a bit of wilted lettuce to pick around when picking up your salad base. Our server was FANTASTIC (Diego) and super bubbly, we definitely recommend him. When the meal was over, and my husband and I were lamenting our meal experience, we were looking forward to the desserts since they had a lot of selections to choose from. The staff brought over a serving tray full of plastic/fake replicas so you could see what they had, and choose what you would like, and then you are served your actual dessert. As a baker, I was deeply disappointed by the chocolate cake... which was soggy, and quite obviously baked with too many eggs in it due to the rubbery texture it had. Topped with generic vanilla ice cream, a bunch of canned whipped cream, and a bucket's worth of chocolate jimmies... this dessert was extremely disappointing.
The overall quality of the environment, food, and timely service was super disappointing. I understand our appointment was for 8pm on a Friday night in the middle of the city, so I left this as a minor complaint, because they seemed spread a little thin in the server department, and Diego was very kind. But there was a lot of waiting around to be helped.
In the end, the manager was understanding and removed the dessert from our bill, but the overall quality of the food left us with no desire to spend our money at...
Read moreIncredibly rude service. We showed up for a birthday dinner and were absolutely shocked by how rude our waiter and people serving the meats were. There was one individual with a hand tattoo that was Incredibly rude. My senior father isn't too fluent in English and the individual with the hand tattoo got Incredibly frustrated with him and told him not to pull any meats. My father understood right away after the first time he told not to pull and the individual kept telling him in a rude way at least 4 different times "do not pull, you can't pull, so don't pull stop pulling." My father instantly apologized to continue being told in a very rude demeanor not to do something he already apologized for. We were there for another hour before he even returned even though he kept passing back and forth from our table. Then our waiter took at least 30-35 minutes to return to our table. We were in dire need of refills and she didn't offer to refill or even take our plates. It was so bad we had to ask another waiter to give us refills and she was so nice and got it for us right away! Then we had remind her multiple times about our birthday. She had so much attitude and finally asked if we wanted a dessert. She finally started to give us refills after she saw the other waitress ask us we needed one. Then my brother asked for one in and she just stared at him and walked away then continued to pass back and forth from our table. Overall such an absolute horrible experience for a birthday. No need to treat people the way we were treated. I personally will not be returning to this establishment but don't discourage others from giving it a shot. Everyone has bad days and hopefully they learn from this. But customers don't deserve to be treated with such attitude and such rude, unprofessionalism. The selection of food is so small that each time we tried to go get a salad or fruit it was gone every time. And after the absolute rude, ugly service? The waitress had the nerve to tell us "this doesn't include tip okay? " $179 for three people to be treated like this? Made to feel uncomfortable and singled out? Definitely thumbs down. Not worth the money, or the time spent being...
Read moreThis was not our first time at Rodízio Grill. My wife and I have been here 5 or 6 times before and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, today’s experience was absolutely terrible.
We were seated at a table far away, almost in a separate area, and for nearly an hour, we barely received any meat. I had to complain four, five, maybe six times to different staff members, and still, the service didn’t improve. At one point, we were getting maybe one piece of chicken every ten minutes, and actual cuts of beef came by only three or four times in the whole 1h30m we were there and only after constant insistence.
On top of that, one of his explanations was that, even though this is a Brazilian STEAKhouse, most of their meats are actually chicken and that they focus on that which, honestly, made no sense and was even more disappointing since every time I came here I had a lot of steak.
As Brazilians in a Brazilian Steakhouse we really tried our best to be understanding and let things slide, but this time it was just too much. It ended up being extremely disappointing, especially since we know Rodízio Grill can do much better based on our previous visits. Sadly, today’s service was unacceptable, and it really left us frustrated.
At the end, I spoke with one of the managers, hoping for understanding. Instead, he tried to explain and justify that the service wasn’t being so bad, without taking any responsibility. He was literally telling me my opinion was wrong. I told him multiple times that we’ve been here many times before and it had always been good, but this time was exceptionally bad. He refused to acknowledge it, which was even more frustrating.
As I’m writing this, he’s actually checking the cameras to verify how long we were left waiting, which honestly speaks for itself. He came back saying that, according to him, the rotation of service was “normal.” In the end, he told us that if we thought it was fair, we shouldn’t leave any tip and should leave a review....
