Update 8/31/25: downgrading from 2 to 1 stars. Yesterday, we had a new waitress helping us out who was very kind and sweet but unfortunately our experience was ruined by how new she was. First off, my water wasn’t refilled until asked for. She over poured my husbands drink over the table. No big deal. Then our apps took forever. Our one last app came after our rolls had come out and we had finished most of it. Our wasabi and ginger tray had hair on it and she did swap it out for us. Lastly, she spilled SOY SAUCE ON MY HUSBANDS SHIRT… and it wasn’t a small spill. She was very apologetic about it and gave us a free dessert. The manager offered dry cleaning services which we declined. When it was time to check out, she was hovering over the POS system as I was inputting the tip. SO AWKWARD! I truly feel despite her kindness, it was an instance we’re $0 tip was appropriate but didn’t leave that because she was right over me. I do think our meal should’ve been comped for how terrible the overall service was. I am disappointed that management does not take reviews seriously by never following up with their customers or responding to their reviews (previous review never responded to).

I was really dissatisfied with my experience yesterday due to our waitress Audrey. Both our dishes came with sesame when we explicitly mentioned we didn’t want any sesame seeds. For the first dish, just an apology and stated she forgot to mention it to the kitchen. Entree comes out, of course also has sesame and she did offer to switch it out but it was too late at that point. I would’ve appreciated her taking one of the items off the check. She didn’t bring us wasabi and ginger with our rolls and we had to ask for it. Drinks weren’t refilled until asked as well despite her checking in on us. She didn’t ask about any dietary restrictions and we were served pork which we do not consume. Hopefully it was an off day for her but it was bad service. Makes me not wanna come back again.

We found the food to be pretty bland overall this time around. Veggie tempura was just awful. My personal favorite are the veggie gyozas and...

Previously I had given this location a 5, today my experience has completely turned me away from eating here (at least this location). We were initially greeted by the host who informed us that without a reservation and with limited seating due to Covid we would have a 45 wait, but ordering take out would get us food quicker. We ordered over the phone for takeout and we were told that the food would be ready in 50 minutes, but the girl taking the order said since we were waiting in the grass she would rush it. Immediately after this the manager Tyler came out and offered us waters while we wait, we politely declined the offer at which point he lectured us about making early reservations to be able to be seated. 10 minutes later a copy walks up to the door without a reservation, is told it's a 45 minute wait, then they say oh actually we have some seats for you and they are seated immediately. At this point we are a bit frustrated and feel like we are being treated differently because we aren't dressed very well, everyone who was seated was dressed well anyone who came through not dressed well while we were waiting was turned away. ..... After waiting the full 50 minutes from the time of placing the order I walked up to the front door to see if there was an ETA for the food. Tyler walked out with an order for someone else and as he passed mentioned, I feel guilty walking by you with food that isn't yours, he walked the food to the car and returned avoiding me not giving me a chance to ask for an ETA. At this point a full hour after placing the order, my fiance calls the front desk to get an ETA, they tell us that it had been ready for a while....but no one called or cared to bring it out to us. I feel I was mistreated for not looking like their preferred clients. While getting condescending looks and comments from the manager Tyler. By the time we got our food the hot food was warm and the cold food was room temperature. I spent over $100 to be treated beneath them, this was in all forms a disappointing experience and I hope something is done about it so others do not...

This was our first time at the Ninth Street location, though we’ve been to their other locations before. We went for an early Saturday dinner without a reservation and were fortunate to be seated right away. However, we noticed a large party that couldn’t be accommodated immediately, so if you’re dining with a big group, I highly recommend booking a reservation on OpenTable—it makes the experience smoother for both you and the restaurant.

Our waiter was fantastic—knowledgeable, attentive, and even helped with the pronunciation of the sashimi I ordered, which I really appreciated. I wish I remembered his name because he truly made our experience even better. We started with Kylie Minogue’s Prosecco, a favorite of ours, and it was great to see it available by the glass. Since I recently had my wisdom teeth removed, I stuck to soft foods, beginning with a miso soup and a selection of sashimi from the special menu—four different types, three pieces each, totaling 12 slices, which was the perfect portion. My other half ordered two rolls: one featuring Wagyu beef with a hint of spice, which he enjoyed, and a classic salmon and avocado roll, both beautifully prepared.

The atmosphere was lively as more guests arrived, and it was fun to see a few birthday celebrations happening. One waitress made a young boy’s birthday extra special by acknowledging him when he ordered his rainbow roll. He looked so happy to be recognized, and it was a thoughtful touch that added to the warm and welcoming vibe of the restaurant.

The restaurant has a modern, stylish interior with soft lighting, creating an inviting space for a date night or a relaxed dinner with a partner. They also have a great outdoor dining area, which we’ll be sure to take advantage of after winter. The menu is extensive, with plenty of options, and the special menu offers unique flavors, making each visit feel fresh and exciting.

Highly recommend—we’ll...

This was our first visit to Tsunami and I must say it was so so good. And actually very reasonably priced!! We could have very easily spent $30-$40 more for what we got at other locations. Everything we had tasted delicious and fresh. They have a Jalapeño Teriyaki sauce that is incredible, it comes with the Shrimp Poppers but I ended up dipping some sushi in it as well. The only thing I would complain about was that the service was just okay, our server refilled our drinks once during the hour visit.. and I have seen on here there are lots of people that have complained about their service so they weren’t wrong. I would highly recommend the Don Juan roll or the Cococabana roll for you heat lovers.

Came in on a last minute decision to get some sushi and they definitely exceeded expectations! One of us has celiacs so gluten will cause a very bad reaction. Our server, Spencer, was extremely helpful and cautious about the allergy. He was very knowledgeable and patient with us. The food was outstanding, and the service was equally impressive. The restaurant has a fantastic ambiance, with both indoor and outdoor seating offering a comfortable and inviting vibe. We left completely satisfied, yet still craving more! I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back!
