Capital Church — Attraction in Salt Lake City

🌿 I would like to thank the Lord for leading me to this man of God to pray for me through the times I had with Church hurt and people that said they were of God they had deceived me💚 🌿 on Saturday I was searching for a church for prayer and the minister was just getting out of their Bible study.💚 🌿 I really appreciate the prayer. Thank you very much. 💚 🌿 Thank you for listening to the things I have to say and praying what I needed from God and also remembering some of the things that I needed prayer for.💚 🌿 I'm happy to say that I made it to your church 💚 🌿sometimes I go to different churches and after maybe 15 minutes of the service💚 🌿I would have guarded my heart and have hardened it and did not want to hear anything else until it was time to sing and wait until it's time to leave.💚 🌿Sometimes I just walk out in the middle of the service because of the traumatic situations I went through in several other churches💚 🌿I really was seeking for a church on Saturday and I showed up at two other churches but they were closed💚 🌿but on the website it said they were open but I made it just in time to get prayer from this pastor 💚 🌿and he stayed a little bit later to talk to the congregation to comfort them and that's what I like about this preacher.💚 He stayed at least 30 minutes after bible study for his people so they can talk to him and get prayer. 🌿I did not want to hold him very long. I know he has a family so I just told him partially about my situation but he still prayed beyond what I had told him.💚 ❤️‍🩹 The pictures I have right here are from Sunday. ❤️‍🩹 🌿After he prayed for me on Saturday I really wanted to go back to church. 🌿it had been several years since I really wanted to actually attend a church💚 🌿 I kept trying but somehow it just didn't work out. I kept trying to guard 🛡️my 🫀heart from what preachers were saying and my 🧠mind from the past.💚

Attended church here as some friends were dedicating their newborn. Not exactly a church guy, grew up LDS, haven't been in years save for an occasional attendance for a family missionary farewell or the like. The atmosphere at capital was very relaxing and super welcoming (unlike the "who are they" tone/looks I'm accustomed to elsewhere). The personal and individualistic nature of the dedication of the kids of the families was intriguing and quite enjoyable to listen to. I wish I had made more of an effort to write the various dedication verses down to refer back to.

After a break, church resumed with probably the best talk/sermon/lesson I can recall in all of my time attending church meetings (admittedly, not very many in my 30+ yrs as an adult). I am a movie fan, and absolutely enjoyed the use of a newly released movie (which is apparently a theme for this church group) and how God uses the movies (those that write and make them) to further His word/message/love.

I doubt I will be back anytime soon, as I'm just not religious as a whole, but of I find myself near the 9th&9th area or needing something to do after grabbing a Banbury donut on a Sunday morning, "This...

I’ve been coming to Capital Church for almost 5 years now. I came to this church during a time of desperately needing a community and church that allowed me to see a different perspective of who God is and what was happening in my life. I cannot begin to tell you how many people I’ve told to come to this church since. Everyone’s response is the same. Which is that was literally the best church I’ve ever been to. This is a church based on Christ & love but also not staying the same and growing through Gods love. This church is freaking AWESOME. Pastor Troy is a true man of God. He has such a way of communicating Gods word with love, compassion, humor and feeling like you can become a better version of you through God & Christ. The community here is also just as heavenly. Each sermon begins to teach me another way of how I can elevate my mind, heart and spirit. If I didn’t have this church I would not be who I am today. Seriously.
