SURPRISE: I secretly got married in my backyard. 💍🌿🌼 Here’s the thing: I always wanted to get married on June 3rd, and yes that’s a Gilmore Girls reference. (Justice for Luke + Lorelei!) But it turns out planning a wedding in just six months was too soon, so we picked a September date and I let go of my June 3rd dream. Then our besties who we wanted to officiate for us couldn’t, because they were pregnant with my niece and due the week of the wedding, so we decided to have a secret little ceremony in our beloved backyard so they could still be the ones to sign the papers. So, without fanfare or frills, I picked up grocery store flowers, a custom cake from @lady__flour, and a few pies from @pizzanono. And a marriage certificate, of course. I swept the patio steps, strung up twinkle lights and paper lanterns, and on a perfect early summer evening, under the watch of Mount Olympus, we got married. Our friends surprised us with an unexpected poetic ceremony toast that compared our love to the Utah landscape, it was perfect. She literally likened our love to cryptobiotic soil and I could have perished with joy in that moment. 💛 Since this day I’ve gotten lots of questions about doing pre-wedding elopements and I can’t recommend it enough. Zero magic was lost from our big wedding, but this took so much of the pressure off, and I was able to really enjoy planning + DIYing the big wedding knowing the hard part, actually getting married, was already done. 10/10 would do again! I love you, @brodyleven, here’s to a lifetime of you barely tolerating my Gilmore Girls references.

Pizzo Nono? More like OhNo! We were NOT informed of the wait (which ended up being 1+hour), we did not receive part of our order despite inquiring about it, and were not offered any compensation the delay. Furthermore, large sections of our pizza did not contain cheese, and only had 3-4 small pieces of prosciutto (see photos). We were left hungrier after than when we came in! We recommend that you do not eat here on, especially during a busy night, and if so, order carryout because they will prioritize those orders!! Here’s more details: On a Saturday, we ordered one pizza (rocket man) and one broccolini for dine in. We didn’t receive our order until 1 hour later and were not informed the wait would be so long. At minute 45, I went to the counter to inquire the status of my order, and it was only then did I see them put our pizza in the oven. I verified this because we were the first people dining in to receive our order despite being the last to have ordered. There were 3 other tables of people who had been waiting longer than us, who didn’t receive their pizzas until way after us. One guy was waiting up to 2 hours! We could clearly see everyone was frustrated. Once we got our pizza, I could tell they rushed it because a large portion of pizza lacked cheese, and there were scant amounts of prosciutto, and nothing on top of the arugula. Overall, it tasted like cheese bread! We didn’t even receive the broccolini, and decided to leave before waiting any longer since we were hungrier after. While waiting, we observed that every time someone came in to ask how long other people had been waiting, they also said an hour. I highly doubt the employees informed everyone of the wait, as they did us. Also, I noticed multiple large carryout orders being picked up while waiting. There were about 3-5 orders with 5-7 pizzas each. I suspect they prioritized the carry out orders and not the dine in ones, which is why I would recommend doing carry out. To top it off, one of their heaters outside was broken so part of our wait was pretty chilly as we were there so long the sun had set, taking the warmth with it.

I will say, I was really looking forward to trying Pizza Nono, but was sadly disappointed with a poor-mediocre experience. We went there with some friends of ours, and all of the pizzas came out at different times, with one of the four taking almost an hour to be served (this was after the three of us were done eating completely, and they barely brought out is food. This was frustrating, and it seemed like none of the staff cared about the urgency or our overall experience. The food itself was mid at best. The crust was really thin and flimsy, as the pizzas weren’t cooked very well and came out just warmer than room temperature. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and go back and try them again at a different time of day—maybe it just wasn’t a good night. The vibe is really cool, and it’s a really fun spot ok 9th, especially when it’s warm out with their patio seating.

So... I was going to be a bit harsher here but honestly all the dumb reviews that have already been posted (like the guy complaining about the broccoli being "just broccoli") make me want to take a different angle.

The food here is generally very good. They have some unique flavors here and a small menu that should allow their kitchen to operate efficiently.

That being said, that's probably the end of the good things I have to say about NoNo. A lot of the people that work here are definitely the "service industry" type that seem to hate their jobs and their customers. People that scoff when you don't tip 25% for a pickup order.

One example, I came in early to pick my order up and was told it wasn't ready. That's totally fine, I know the type of oven they use since I've worked at like 3 pizzerias and don't expect them to defy the laws of thermodynamics preparing my order. I was simply letting them know I was on site, I paid and went to wait in my truck. The problem was when I came back in and grabbed my pizza off the counter, some woman shouted up at me if "I'd like to pay for that?"

Again, cool, I get it. Mistakes happen. But next time I ordered (it took me awhile even though I like the pizza due to the awkward encounter) I came in early and the guy scoffed at me and told me it wouldn't be ready till the time on my receipt. Whatever, I know the drill by now. But when I came back in like 10 minutes before the pickup time figuring that if it did finish early I would be there to get it hot out of the oven. Saw some orders already ready on the counter but didn't want another round of accusations of being the pizza bandit so I just locked eyes with the guy that told me to wait so he'd know I was back. Waited like 15 minutes for him to grab one of the orders that had been there the whole time, walk up to me and be like "here you go."

Definitely a punishment for having the gall to try and pick my pizza up early lol.

Anyways, still giving five stars to make up for all the dumb reviews but honestly y'all could dominate here if you could get people in the back throwing pizzas together quicker and get the...

Perhaps I caught them at a bad time given the generally good reviews, but nothing about my experience was good. I get better service and better pizza from chains like MOD.

First, the website is poor. The ordering process isn't particularly intuitive and they just have pictures for their speciality pizza's without any description or ingredients. Once you've figured that out though the process is ok.

Second, it said our order would be done by 6pm. At 6:05pm I asked and I'm pretty sure they started making my pizza then and there. Ended up getting my pizza around 6:25.

Third, this was the worst pizza I've ever had. I ordered a Calzone and my partner ordered a regular pizza. The Calzone came in a pizza box - I think that's all you need to know if you like Calzones. A quick look at google tells you they aren't supposed to be flat. This was just a pizza folded on itself with barely any ingredients inside. I ordered goats cheese and prosciutto for an extra $4. The most evidence I could find of that was one tiny sliver of Prosciutto. The final nail in the coffin was the dough. It was half cooked and the whole pizza just tasted wet. My partner was equally as disappointed with her pizza. We'd both have been happier with a store-bought pizza.

Again perhaps I caught them at a bad time and they're typically better but to me, it seems like this place is propped up by it's location on 9th and 9th. Not sure how else it stays in business. If they are busy they need to up the expected waiting time not forget about your order and then under cook it. Even with such issues fixed though I'm not sure it would have been any...
