I honestly don’t understand how this place has so many 5-star reviews. Are they handing out free food for good ratings? Are their close friends writing fake reviews? Or do people in Utah think trash is good food? My husband and I were so excited to try Vegan Daddy Meats “restaurant” after enjoying the “meats” from Sweet Hazel & Co., but we walked away seriously disappointed. We would have rather starved.
We ordered the VFC bowl, vings, and some fries. The VFC bowl was honestly awful. 100% sure they use instant mashed potatoes and frozen corn. The vings were just okay, but nothing special. Any of the few other restaurants in SLC that serve vegan wings are superior to this establishment and their wings. And the fries? Generic, frozen ones you could get anywhere, like Costco or the grocery store.
None of these items were worth the price.
Really bummed. It feels like the owner tried to turn their great “meats” into full meals but ended up cutting corners to save costs. I’d much rather eat at any of the other restaurants that offer the Vegan Daddy Meats, than eat here again. Sad to say, I think I would have been more satisfied eating cardboard. That was the worst vegan food...
Read moreI was quite excited for a new Vegan Eatery and brought my partner.
We got:
Mac bowl - had a pretty off taste that was tolerable enough for me to eat it she could not.
Beef and cheddar sandwich - Awful. First bite i could hardly swallow l. Second bite i spit out. I tired just the meat to see if I could salvage any of it. I could not.
Poutine fries - Aggressively average. Gravy was thing and somewhat flavorless. Cheese wasn't even trying to be melty.
Vegan wings - Axtually quite tasty. Two of my pieces were still frozen in the middle.
Part of me wanted to go back another time and try their chicken sandwiches because the wings were decent, but I don't think I will. Within 6 minutes of this establishment are both Buds and Vertical Diner, both of which are in a completely different league of flavor and quality.
I will note that the woman that took our order and brought our food out...

I'm not asking for a bucket of ranch with my wings, but I actually want to be able to dip of some of the wings in it and not use it all for the veggies. I'm talking one of those little 1-2 oz sauce containers full for a half pound vegan meat and veggies. Had to eat what I could, put my lid on my takeout container and put it in the fridge and wait until the next day to eat it, when I was able to buy some vegan ranch from the grocery store. Luckily all I needed to do was pop the little metal container in the oven and my wings were truly delicious, but I am physically incapable of eating wings without ranch. Whack. Was a Doordash order. Now I know, but first time orderers aren't gonna know....
