The Union is one of my favorite venues. The sound is usually great, the energy is strong, and it’s a place that’s clearly been built with care. If you’re on the floor, it’s the classic concert experience. Show up early, and you’ll enjoy excellent sound and atmosphere. There are also some really solid mezzanine spots that are ideal for people who prefer a little space and comfort.
That’s what made us excited to try the Very Important Person (VIP) venue treatment when a favorite band came through. My wife and I paid the extra $300 expecting a premium experience. What we got was a bit of a mixed bag.
We were seated directly above the stage. It was close to the band, which was cool, but the sound in that section was oddly quiet, and our view was mostly blocked by the first row of tables, which seat up to four people. The second row, where we were, had almost no visibility unless someone in front moved. On top of that, the area was busy with staff moving around and talking, which distracted from the show.
It didn’t ruin the night, but it made what could have been a great experience feel more like an expensive compromise. I wouldn’t recommend that section of VIP to fans who are really there for the music.
That said, I’m giving The Union 4 stars. This is a venue I truly enjoy, and I appreciate the atmosphere they’ve created. Maybe they usually have VIP for like club nights and didn’t think about the fans of music artists. I just hope they revisit how that VIP section is set up. There’s room for improvement, and a few changes would go a long way in making sure the premium experience actually feels that way.
For anyone planning to visit: if sound and sightlines matter to you, stick to the floor or choose mezzanine spots carefully. If you’re going VIP, be aware of where the seats are before buying. The Union delivers a great concert experience overall, and with a few adjustments, it could be...
Read moreI recently had the privilege of attending a concert night featuring the talented artist FINNEAS. I decided to indulge in the VIP experience, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The VIP area offered a more exclusive and comfortable setting, allowing me to enjoy the evening with a sense of luxury and ease. The staff in the VIP section were attentive and provided excellent service, ensuring that all our needs were met throughout the night.
However, there were a few aspects of the event that could have been improved. One of the main issues was the security line, which began a bit late compared to the scheduled time. This delay caused some inconvenience for the attendees, as it meant we had to wait longer than expected before entering the venue. I understand that security is a priority, but a more efficient process could have minimized the wait time.
Another notable aspect of the concert was the audio quality. The band’s performance was exceptional, and the sound of their instruments was fantastic. The music was clear and vibrant, creating an immersive experience for the audience. However, the microphone sound was barely audible, which was disappointing. It was challenging to hear the vocals clearly, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the concert.
Despite these minor setbacks, there were positive moments as well. While we were waiting for the artists to take the stage, I appreciated the staff’s thoughtful gesture of passing out water bottles for hydration. This small act of kindness was a nice touch and showed that the organizers were considerate of the attendees’ comfort. Overall, it was a memorable night, and I look forward to attending more concerts...
Read moreI would not recommend this venue to anyone no matter how great the artist is. My first time there with absolutely no information that should have been provided. It says ALL AGES ALL GENERAL ADMISSION. But they separated the 21+ on the sides which made the center way too packed so we were in the back right next to the security when my friend got a PEPSI from the venue on the 21+ side of the fence and my daughter asked her what it was to make sure there was not any alcohol in it before taking a drink. Not even thinking for a second she was doing something wrong right in front of the security! She wasn’t trying to sneak anything. Yes it looked bad when she took the drink from across the fence but when we BEGGED security to “hey try the drink” “test the drink” “go verify what was ordered” they refused to communicate. They pulled a MINOR out of the venue without a parent and HARASSED her while I was trying to resolve the issue inside. I don’t see how this could ever be acceptable. We only got to listen TWO Songs of Jessie Murph before my daughter was kicked out which resulted in 9 paid tickets leaving to go cheer her up. Do you know how traumatic it is to look forward to a concert for six months, drive three hours, pick the perfect outfit, and just want to see your favorite artist? Mind you we spent over $500 in merchandise and watched your workers VAPING in the facility. Yes I understand security can be frustrating and there is rules but if you can’t read the room and clearly see what you did was wrong then your not doing your job right. I expect an all age concert to be safe for my kids and I not once felt that way here. Thanks for ruining a very...
