Read moreFirst of all I absolutely hate the taste of fish. That’s why I order beef! Mongolian Beef. Last time we ate here, the beef had a sour/fishy taste. I didn’t say anything because I thought the chef made an innocent mistake. But I love Mongolian beef so I ordered it again tonight. It was so fishy I couldn’t eat any of it. I ordered BEEF not FISH. In 40 years of eating Mongolian beef, I’ve never experienced red meat flavored with seafood sauce. Really disappointing. Also strange was the dish contained 2 distinctly different types of meat. What’s that all about?!?! Portions were very small for 3 of 4 dishes despite the higher price. No white rice included. And for $90, they included ONE small container of soy sauce. But here’s the kicker: The order-out menus is more expensive than the dine in menu. They also tacked on a 3% convenience fee. AND the online ordering automatically added a 15% tip. He paid the “order out” price and “convenience fee.” Then we got a surprise call back from August Moon. They actually ASKED for a tip. So, in short, fishy food, jacked up prices for small portions, added convenience fees and the audacity to call us back and ask for a tip. ...
Read moreIf I could, it would be zero stars. Food is not authentic and even worse than other North Americanized Chinese restaurants. It is questionable why this place would have such a high rating with the issues I will state below:
Wonton soup: wontons overcooked and bland because the filling didn't have much other ingredients to 'soften it up'. Wontons from Hong Kong should have shrimp. Wontons from China and Taiwan should have some chopped up leafy greens like bok choy. The soup did not have green onions and wasn't the traditional type of shrimp-shell based soup.
Sweet and sour pork: it looked like dry pork with red coloring coated on top. Flavorless (except for the coating) and dry.
Stir fry noodles: soggy and minimal protein. The noodles used are not the authentic type of chow mein noodles but rather a North Americanized wheat noodle.
Now let's talk about pricing....pricing is substantially higher than other places around.
