Angel's Mexican Haven — Restaurant in San Antonio

So my Beautiful Wife and I just Love us “hole-in-the-wall” places! (Don’t Judge us for eating out so Late 😂😅)

So we had just finished watching our grandson play soccer right down the street at the Community Center and saw this small quaint restaurant just calling our names! (Mainly Mine to be Honest); well, we pull in to this joint and it’s empty but we quickly get Great Customer Service; we Notice that the place is very Nicely Decorated with colorful vibes, tables cloths, and old family pics; and Great Signs “You Had Me at Tacos”! Well, the Food Options, Large Portions, and actual Quality/ Taste of the Food did not disappoint! I had Lengua guisada in some really nice Mexican sauce making my meat super tender; for my Wife, she had the Gorditas plate and they even gave her the option of making one chicken and the other beef without any extra cost (very accommodating with requests)!

Finally, they had Great Cumbia música playing in the background that wasn’t so loud that you could actually have a conversation and here each other speak! Again, the Folks were very Friendly and Welcoming and just put out Good Vibes all around; as I Always say, as much as I Love Great Food, I’m a Bigger Softy for GREAT Customer Service! In the passed year I have been a patron at this restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner/. There is a waitress (just this particular waitress) that has been absolutely terrbile to deal with on numerous occasions.The waitress with the HAND TATTOOS. She is always a problem when she's our waitress. In the past when when we ask for salsa on the side of our eggs she forgets the salsa and says she will bring it then we see her chatting with others while were still waiting for it. We have to flag her down and ask her to bring it. She doesn't bring the tortillas that come with the meal and we ask she says she's waiting for them and then miraculously slips off to the kitchen and comes back with the tortillas that are not even hot? What was she waiting for if they aren't hot. She Never gives us chips and when we ask, she says because we didn't ask for them but when I come other days, other waitresses give chips and salsa to us without asking. This waitress for some reason always has a way where she treats us like we don't belong there or she's doing us a favor by letting us eat there. Hadn't been since before the pandemic shut everything down. We came in and ordered breakfast tacos and the "pork chop" taco that they are well known for. Your "basic" tacos are prices a little higher than your average breakfast taco price. If you opt to order a "meat" taco, anticipate a higher price for that as well. I ordered a basic "picadillo" taco and it was $1.99. The carne guisada was about $2.49 and it contained about 6 pieces of meat with some gravy. After a short wait time, I would've expected the tortillas to have been a little warmer as well as the contents of the tacos. The bean and cheese taco was not priced at the normal going rate of between 79 and 99 cents a taco. The pork chop taco is prices for what it is and I'm not going to state different. If you're gonna spend the time getting that taco, then order it " a la mexicana. " I ordered the iced tea in a to go cup, and overall my bill came out just right under $7.00. (For breakfast tacos, not a plate.) I'm more than sure that the price fluctuations are/were due to COVID-19 but, maybe looking back and readjusting the prices for the "standard basic" tacos...
