October 10th, 2023... I decided to give this place another try, because it used to be one of our favorite places. I ordered the two entree combo plate for dinner. They didn't have the spicy shredded pork, which used to be one of my favorite with Julianne vegetables. So I stuck to the orange chicken, making it a one entree meal. The fried rice was seriously disgusting. They change to a cheaper brand of sriracha sauce and it's not good at all. By the way, if you order hot oil, Sriracha or hot mustard they charge you a dollar per sauce. The orange chicken, unlike before, was good. Also, these combos used to come with soup and they don't anymore.

All in all, I was not impressed. I really don't think I'll be coming back. It's a shame because it used to be very good.

Latest Review 8/29/2022 I just got back from Asia. If you read below you'll see that this was our "Go-to" place for homemade Chinese. We went once around covid 2020 (read below) and it was REALLY BAD. A friend of ours visiting said she heard a lady say it was "great" so today during her Dr's visit in San Antonio we decided to try it out. I wasn't impressed. It is a bit better than before...no longer disgusting, but very mediocre. I ordered the spicy shredded pork and imperial shrimp, always my favorites. They didn't even have the right sauce for the shrimp. The spicy shredded pork was always more of a mangolian dry grilled fry but now has sauce. It was not near as good. I wouldn't take anyone there. Not at all what it used to be and the prices are doubled. Over 64 dollars for 3 combo plates. The fried rice n egg rolls were also bland. It's sad. We use to live this place.

Read update below... Love this little restaurant. Freshly made Chinese food! Staff is very friendly. I go here every time I'm in San Antonio...they already know me. I love this place!! Try their shredded spicy pork, Imperial Shrimp, Triple delight... just to mention a few. I love their hot and sour soup, and the Crab Puffs are very good too. You won't be disappointed. I moved to San Antonio UPDATE- 1yr after Covid: We ordered from here for pick up. The food was NOT good šŸ˜•. At first I thought it was because it wasn’t fresh like when you eat there, but we weren’t going out anywhere so we brought it home. One day we decided to go again and give it a 2nd chance... it was terrible 😢 My husband ordered the General TSO, which we’ve had (1yr ago) many many times. This was not only Not General TSO, it was completely bland. I always get the Imperial Shrimp. It’s usually served with a delicious thick glazed that comes in a separate sm bowl. This time it was watery and completely bland. No flavor. I didn’t pour it on the shrimp or it would have made them disgusting and soggy. I hope they go back to how it used to be. This was our...

I genuinely think some of these positive reviews aren’t real! We had read all of the raving reviews and decided to try it out for dinner and it was in no way the same experience many of these reviewers report having.

The restaurant is small and barebones which would be fine except it was dirty. The wall next to us was filthy. They have cleaning chemicals just out and sitting on tables as well as large air fresheners which seems unsanitary and bothersome to have around when eating.

We ordered two combo plates and two small wonton soups. The bill was much more expensive than our usual Chinese spots, and unfortunately the quality didn’t measure up at all. The wonton soup was good but everything else was dismal. I got fried rice, broccoli beef and shrimp with lobster sauce. Everything was too salty and artificial tasting. It was gross in all honesty. The ā€œfried riceā€ was just that; rice fried in oil. NO egg, no veggies, no bits of pork. It was just straight up oily brown rice. My husband also received the oily fried rice with sweet and sour pork and general chicken. He said both entrees were just okay, but he couldn’t even use the sweet and sour sauce because it was too sweet and gloopy like a syrup. Our crabmeat Rangoons, as advertised on the menu, had no crab or green onion inside it, and instead were just too big a glob of sour tasting cream cheese. The entire meal was disappointing to say the least.

Our server was very sweet but that was not enough to save a gross meal in a dirty restaurant. Also, when we got our plates (we hadn’t even taken a bite yet) she came running over to ask us if we wanted one of their random novelty cups they had stacked on a back table. I said no thank you, and she told us the owner said if we left a five star review we would get a novelty cup for free. So maybe that’s why this place has such a warm response? I’m not sure.

To be honest, it was a waste of a dinner out. The food ended up making us feel incredibly sick after eating. We both had to go straight home and felt nauseous and icky for the rest of the night. I’m also sad we took a gamble from our usual spots and paid more for less food, lower quality, and more grease. We won’t be...

I recently tried the Chinese food from this place, and I must say, it was a huge disappointment. After reading all the glowing 4.6-star reviews online, I had high expectations, but the reality was far from what was promised.

First and foremost, the food was shockingly bland. I couldn't believe how tasteless everything was. It was as if they had completely forgotten to season the dishes. The vegetables listed in the menu were not the same ones in my dish.

Another major issue was the sauce, or should I say, the lack thereof. The sauces in the dishes I ordered were watered down to the point where they resembled colored water more than anything else. It was disheartening to see how they had diluted what should have been the star of the dishes. I expected rich, flavorful sauces that would complement the ingredients, but what I got was a watery mess that did nothing to enhance the overall experience.

What's even more disappointing is that the food I received tasted like something you would find at a cheap Chinese buffet. I had hoped for authentic flavors and a memorable dining experience, but instead, I felt like I had wasted my money on subpar food.

In conclusion, I cannot understand how this restaurant has garnered such high ratings. My experience was far from the 4.6-star reviews I had seen online. The blandness of the food and the watered-down sauces left me thoroughly unsatisfied. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking authentic and flavorful Chinese cuisine. Save your money and look elsewhere for a more satisfying...

I have not heard of this place, then again I don’t have many peers who go around to different Chinese restaurants. It’s cozy inside. I wasn’t sure initially about sitting down since it was empty but I saw people slowly trickle in and out, picking up and carry out orders here and there. The tables are cleaned very well and it’s not like a rush job like at many buffets and even (hate to say it) iHop. The food may come out very fast. I ordered pan fried noodles and won ton soup. The won ton soup noodles are a bit thick, the meat in the broth is chewy, and otherwise it’s your average salty won ton soup. The pan fried noodles are as thin as rice noodles but crispy like those thin salad crunchy noodles. I accidentally mistook crispy for something else so when I asked for a plate of lo mien (soft noodles) they were able to give me a plate. The food is filling but the chicken in the noodles tastes very fresh. Vegetables are good and it’s the noodle sauce that it’s mixed in that gives the food the fried oily feel. Wait staff is RIDICULOUSLY attentive and checks on you a lot. They are serious about getting their restaurant name out there. They try to make things as accommodating as possible, including how the waiter even prepared the plastic bag for my styrofoam box by opening it up and widening the opening. Worth the review.
