Babe's Old Fashioned Food — Restaurant in San Antonio

Okay, they have the best veggie pizza EVER!!!! Fresh veggies, and crunchy crust and never greasy. My husband, son, and I go frequently after Church. My husband usually gets the mushroom Swiss burger (combo) and my son gets either the chicken nuggets or grilled cheese with fries. I always have leftovers from my pizza, I highly recommend coming here. They have a nice patio with picnic tables. May the Lord bless Babe’s Old Fashioned and anyone that reads this comment. It’s either you put your faith and trust in blood of the Lamb, the beautiful atoning blood of Jesus Christ, be saved from wrath that is most definitely coming from Almighty God, or you choose death, without Jesus Christ, and pay for your sins in hell.

While I normally enjoy eating here today I had the worst experience. I ordered my food through the drive through and when I got home I realized I was missing the kids burger for my daughter and two extra ranches I asked for. I thought no big deal I’ll go ask for the missing items. I pulled up to the drive through and explained that I was missing a couple items they apologized and asked me to pull forward and they would get my items ready. As I pull forward two workers come out. Some guy who claimed to be the manager and some tall girl. Not sure why it took two people to come out but the “manager” quickly stated that I was not missing any items and that my kids meal was in the bag. I informed him that it was not. He insisted that it was and that he made sure of it and he also claimed that I was given 6 ranches which was also a lie. I only had two. Both of the workers insisted I was lying because they said they’ve seen customers come back for less items than that. So I guess because of that they felt like it would be best for them to try and intimidate me so I can just leave and they can stay with my money. I called my husband in front of them and my husband told them the exact same thing and they continued to insist that I was lying. Finally the manager said they’ve seen customers only way I can have my money back was if I brought the bag of food back. So I had to drive all the way back to my house just to bring them an incorrect order. It took my husband to have to get off just to get our money back. But of course attitudes were quickly changed when he got off. I have worked in Costner services for years and while I don’t agree with “the customer is always right” phrase not all customers are wrong either. My daughter and I were hungry and just wanted our order but we had to unfortunately deal with these two rude, inconsiderate, irresponsible idiots who should not be working there. Update: 3rd visit to this location, I ordered $18 worth of food and was told I could only have 2 little cups of honey mustard for my burger and loaf of onion rings. I already had the previous bad experience, so this is just another visit that was less than enjoyable. Used to be one of my favorite burger places, but it seems like service, quality and consistency have all gotten worse.

First time visiting this location. I've been eating at the Babes on Fredricksburg Rd for decades. Was expecting the same quality food at this location but was disappointed.

We ordered 3 burgers, 1 as a combo, 2 drinks, and a basket of onion rings. When the food came out the basket of onion rings was not only overcooked but about 1/3 the size it should have been. I remember when the basket was called a "loaf" of onion rings and was a huge pile you had to peel apart. This was just a small single serving portion. Half of them were dark brown.

We complained to the counter, about the portion size and being over cooked, and they cooked another basket for us, which was maybe double the size, was actually cooked close to normal, but still wasn't as good as the ones from the other location.

The honey mustard seemed watery, I love the honey mustard, but the flavor here was a lot weaker. Not sure how that can be unless they mix it themselves.

My burger (mushroom swiss) was close to normal, flavor wise, but seemed greasier than at the other location. My fingers were covered in grease.

This location is closer to work, but I think I'll just opt to dine at the other location when I'm near it. The other people dining with me had never eaten at a Babes before and were not impressed. They commented to me they...
