Unfortunately if I were able to give this location ZERO stars I would because of the night I just had there. I can't really speak on the entire staff but the service we experienced today was treacherous. My family and I were ready to enjoy our annual New Years eve dinner and decided to spend it at chuys. We were waiting for over 40 min for a table, I'm not going to complain about that because it was a busy night. When we were seated our waitress already seemed a little scarce she came by to take our drink order, the drinks came back wrong and my husbands dr pepper was basically a carbonated water because the syrup in the machine was empty. When we asked for a different drink or another Dr. Pepper, when they changed out the syrup, she acted really "put out" and brought him a water and said she would bring him a dr. Pepper when the syrup was changed....we never saw that Dr. Pepper and she annoyingly said it hadn't been changed out so he can pick another drink (this was after our plates were served..halfway through dinner ) When we all recieved our plates my husband did not receive his..nor was there an explanation. We also sat with our dinner plates and no silverware for a while. Every time we asked our server for something she looked irritated. She asked my husband what he had ordered when we all had our plates already and walked away...still no explanation. When I saw her again I asked about my husband's plate and she responded that they sent it to the wrong table and they're making it again. No apology...nothing. When we were practically finished eating my husband's plate came out finally. We recieved the check and were charged for an extra drink so my husband brought it to the managers attention, at this point we were just really dissatisfied with our service. She said the ticket will be fixed and brought to the table. The ticket was missing for another 10-15 minutes. My mom went to the manager to ask for the ticket, she had my elderly grandfather that was ready to get home. The manager was very polite and had the waitress bring the updated ticket. My mom goes to the waitress to hand her the debit card and she SNATCHES my moms debit card from her hand...IN FRONT OF THE MANAGER! The manager apologizes to my mom and my mother is basically shocked. The name of our waitress on the ticket was JAZMIN V. What an awful experience, New Years eve dinner wasted! we will not be returning or ordering catering for my company from this location anymore....

Can't believe I haven't reviewed Chuy's until now. We came to Texas in 2011 and I think Chuy's was one of our early Tex-Mex discoveries... it was love at first sight.

From the moment you walk-in your senses are blasted with the bright colors of little wooden fish hanging from the ceilings, their famous T-shirt collection hanging on the wall (collectibles) and the lighted metal palm trees inside the restaurant! Walls filled with vintage hubcaps! Pictures of Elvis and classic cars, old airplanes and the famous dog-picture wall.

Then your eyes are drawn to a tortilla making island where they make their tortillas nearly non-stop. Their famous full bar with all kinds of margaritas (prickly pear/lime blend)... too many specialty drinks to mention. Beers of all sorts and there is the backend of an old Cadillac or Chevy with its trunk open thats a serve yourself Chip, Salsa, Creamy Jalapeño and Cheese Queso bar during happy hour!

The servers are usually sporting one of their Chuy's Classic T-shirts or a Spurs T on game nights! They are usually real pros and we have our favorites!

They bring you a piping hot tray of chips with their own awesome salsa... heads-up! some nights they are a bit more generous with the jalapeños!

Here is my Tip!... ASK THE SERVER TO BRING YOU SOME OF THEIR FAMOUS "CREAMY JALAPEÑO DIP"

BUT SLOW-down on the chips cuz your just getting started!

The menu has just about every Tex-Mex Classic but with a Chuy's spin... e.g. The Elvis Special is a combo plate you probably can't finish.

Their Chicken Tortilla Soup is absolutely our favorite... really. Taco salads are fresh and perfect for those nights you aren't too hungry...

They have a stacked chicken enchilada made with blue corn tortillas and a creamy verde sauce that you will dream about. Too many plates to list here but we haven't found one yet we didn't love!

And... just when you are slowing down and realizing you ate way too many chips... You should know... they are famous for their TRES LECHES CAKE!!

When even one of our kids come to town and for sure when everyone comes to visit... A Chuy's visit is on the must-go list!

There are multiple locations, so find the one closest to you.. We...

I would never recommend anyone to go here unless you want to ruin your meal. So the food was horrible but the service was even worse. First of all they did not even have napkins anywhere in the place or on any of the tables and they did not even offer them to us . When we opened our knives and forks we saw that my moms had cilantro on the back of her fork and my brothers was completely dirty and so was mine like they weren’t washed at all which is disgusting, so we asked for news one and even those were not that clean. We might’ve sat down at the place around 8:40-45 and then we ordered appetizers and our drinks, so like by 9:30 we were done with appetizers and were about to order the main meal when the waitress comes and says we’re about to close the down the kitchen would y’all like anything else? We hadn’t even ordered our main meal yet and she said we were about to close our kitchen and it was only 9:30 and they are supposed to close at 10 so that’s really kinda messed up to close before. We obviously did order because we were there so we obviously had to get served. (I’ve been to so many restaurants where sometimes we are ordering our main meal after closing and they still give us the best service and food and they make the food seem so appetizing and appealing when hete that’s not the case at all.) So after we ordered our main meal she saw my brother was out of soda so she asked if he wanted a refill and he said yes. The refill came after 15 mins when really it should’ve been like 2-5 mins. When she came with a paper known as a “bill” was just put on the table where it was wet and she did not bother that the bill was getting wet. When she was taking our plates , she took all the big and all the small ones and i said could you please take mine because she forgot to put it on the big plates and she didn’t even bother she just left.... The food was horrible like my mom legit felt like throwing up and my brother , my dad , and I didn’t even eat the food.. It felt like the food has been made and just warmed up and give to you... Horrible Food , Service and experience......

The chicken and cheese Chile Relleno was delicious. Our waitress tried, but she was not ready for a group of 24. The stress was written all over her face.... Expressions and tone. Of course there was a wait to seat all of us (no reservation available) however it would have been nice if they offered drinks or pointed us to the bar to order drinks during our 45 minute wait. Also would have been very lucrative for them. By the time we were sat, it was 6 minutes past the happy hour so no drink special for us. I did point that out and ask in a very respectful way. No luck. Of course that won't stop us from ordering what we please. Goes back to that wait time... Would have ordered more drinks had we been pointed in the direction of the bar. My husband had the steak burrito. Not sure how he finished it. It was ginormous. He did have a tummy ache after but only because he devoured that thing. I had the boom boom sauce on my Relleno and the queso and jalapeno ranch were delectable as well. Overall, pleased with the food and the Texas Martini (adult beverage) was tasty. (Was not served the olives, would have been a nice touch)

Chuy's off 281 & 1604 is always worth going out of the way to. The Forum location is actually closer but unfortunately we've experiencesd alot of misses and awkward moments there. But we didn't give up on Chuy's and thankfully the Northwoods location has not let us down. Further more Bernadette has been one of the best restaurant servers we've had. Always on point and kind and personable. Much so that we been asking for her when being seated. Up until recently I could say that Chuy's is a place you get bang for your buck, but it seemed they've recently gone up alittle on prices on this last visit. But then again who hasn't in this economy so I'm not holding that against them. Well I might be alittle bitter about buying extra alvocado on the side once. It's mostly lettuce hiding under the top giving the allusion of a full cup. Buuuut, it's fine I probably shouldn't be hittin extra alvo on my tortilla chips anyways with my diet. Ow yeah they provide chips and salsa while you wait for your plates to cook. But, to the point. Northwoods, thank you and keep up the great work.
