The server who started our meal was slow, unattentive and forgetful. When I arrived Sheila had only 3 other tables to service but still managed to take 17 min to provide beverages and take our food order. I know this because I used the stop watch on my phone after realizing how slow the service was to other tables and how long it took for her to even acknowledge my family and I. I had to request basic items like silverware and water while waiting for my food to arrive. My cousin spoke to the acting manager Kyle Davis after an hour had elapsed and no food had arrive. I understand he was not the permanent manager at the location but he was very courteous and apologetic and listened to our concerns. Once the food did arrive my plate was prepared wrong (I simply got biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and hash browns) the server blamed the cook for the problem. Kyle checked in to ask if we were satisfied and offered to pay for the meal once told it was made wrong. At this point we were given a new waitress, Elizabeth, who was very polite, attentive and apologetic although nothing was her fault. It appeared Kyle's shift was over and soon he left. That was when things got out of line. My family and I finished our meal while listening to two older servers, one of which was our first server, complain about us and speak poorly about us. These women stood at the cash register speaking degrotorily about my family and I in a snarky rude manner as though we were in the wrong for speaking to Managment. They're actions were very rude and unprofessional. After listening in for almost 10 min I proceeded to the cash register told them I could hear them bashing us and asked them for a coperate number or managers card. Initially they ignored me and continued to count money and only when I stated that I didn't appreciate them speaking so rudely about me and my family did they say "well our manager left" and continued to ignore me. At that point Elizabeth gave us togo containers and my family and I left. I understand that older aged service may move slower than average however the team did not work together and support one another. There were 3 women on the floor along with my initial server and although direct eye contact was made not one of them asked if my family and I needed help. I was a first time dinner at that location and due to the rude unprofessional attitude at this location I will not...
Read moreI didn't even want to give this place 1 * but I have to in order to write a review. I was trying to place an order so I called this store just to get help and ask if my sauses could be put on the side. a "manger" by the name of jiff, Jeff, caleo those we're all the names he gave me was so rude and unprofessional and his only answer was I don't know to every question that I asked he didn't even try to help me. I asked him if I can speak to a manager because he couldn't help me he stated that he was the manager gave me three different names was being very rude and said it was not his problem I needed to figure it out myself.I would hope that one of these corporate managers is looking at this comment and will take action I had to call another Denny's to get his correct name which was camello I also asked if I could speak with somebody other than him he told me there was nobody else in the store to help me so I told him I will cancel my order and take my business some other placeI really don't think that he deserves that title of being a manager he has no customer service experience it seems like he's just there for a paycheck not to help the customers. Without all these customers he would not have a job. for you to work in a place where you are around a lot of people you need to have very good customer service skills I am not sure on how he even got the position as a manager with his attitude. when I called another Denny's to place my order I spoke to another woman who was not a manager and had more professionalism and went above and beyond with my order . Just my opinion she should...
Read moreI am a local and decided to give it a try as I usually go to Jim's which is a local legend in San Antonio for breakfast. I ordered the $4 everyday grand slam which comes with bacon or sausage. I got the bacon and the 2 small pieces that I got were a tiny bit larger than what 1 normal slice of bacon was. I looked over at a couple of tables that had ordered more expensive breakfast but that also just came with 2 pieces of bacon. I could tell that from 10 feet away that they must reserve the discount bacon for their everyday grand slams because the bacon on their plates was larger and looked better. The pancakes were not very tasty and tasted like it was just a bad batter, a little cardboard like but were ok with butter and liberal syrup. The customer service was excellent . One thing I forgot to mention is that when I walked in it was awfully warm inside. I asked the waiter if he thought it was warm and he said he agreed he was warm himself. The only thing that was ok were my scrambled eggs.. Overall it was a big disappointment as I have been to Jims and IHOP exclusively but was willing to give Denny's a chance and it fell short. I recommend the manager and cooks go to Jims or IHOP to find out what tasty pancakes taste like. I am sure it is all in improving their pancake batter ,and of course do not serve people practically slivers of bacon and call...
