Ming Garden Express is empty during the lunch hour! I sat outside had a cigarette before i ws going to make the trip back home. According to the sign on the door the restaurant was open!
I did not bother to try opening the door. It looked dark inside, no detection of movement looking into glass door/windows.
When i saw a lady walk out i yelled "is it open!" Her response was Yes!
WHY SUCH A LARGE INTODUCTION TO THIS REVIEW?
My review starts this way to give people an idea of how all the city, county, state, and federal rules, regualtions, and laws have effected the FOOD AND BEVERAGES INDUSTRY here in the city i live in!!
I must let you know that an AIR FORCE BASE IS practically at my backdoor. You would think this area of town would be thriving and be a place of hustle and bustle! I realize the bases have been in pretty much a lockdown since the war against terrorism or i should say in my opinion, the war for oil in the far east.
I won't let my bias interfere with the review.
So, the young lady first response was, you have to pick up your mask! The one i had on tends to slide down, not a proper fit. So there you go, The Ming Garden Express is practicing the required covid 19 protocols.
I saw a large area where tables and chairs stacked and cordoned off indicates this was a thriving business. The price i paid and the food i brought home to eat for brunch was also very good eating!
I can't remember!!!😗 I usually order the general tso chicken. If it is on the menu, i can't see it now (stress and anxiety over a lawsuit).
So, i shall quote the receipt: 1 manager spe general ch 8.00 Egg roll Fried rice Big red 1 S2 hot sour soup 2.49 1/3/2021 12:10:03 pm
Total i paid for the meal was $9.51, and it was well worth the money spent.
The entre was delish i ate it through the night. The fried rice i finished about an hour ago. And the soup is not finished yet.
I had to throw away my micro wave it had a leak in the vacuum. So, i have been drinking the hot sour soup cold and it lives up to it's name in flavor.
Unfortunately, the egg drop soup i found in the bag was on my kitchen counter overnight and i had to throw it away.
I would recommend this restaurant to all who wish to enjoy thier food!
PLEASE NOTE: THEY ARE ONLY DOING WALK/TAKE OUT BUSSINESS, AND DELIVERY.
In addition, please be nice to the employees you may run into.
They must work to take care of thier families, during this time of the covid 19 virus. We are all under pressure, and perhaps fear for our children and family, weather they are sick or the fear of getting sick.
Forgot to mention the young lady that worked the counter. She took the time to run over and open the door for me. I do so much appreciate it! Using a rollator is not something i do by choice, only so i can do the distance for my walk for something to eat.
So, yes the restaurant is handicapped accessible!
please note i have tried my best with editing my post on reviews...
Read morePhone in ordered of chow mein and lemon chicken. Picked it up and was repeated chow mein and lemon chicken. They gave me lo mein instead. I called and a female answered and told me I can go back exchange the lo mein for chow mein or I can get store credit for next time. I asked if I could also return lemon chicken since it would be cold by the time I would eat it because I had to go back and return the lo mein that was their error. I was just asking. No big deal. She asked her boss and he proceeded to yell at her saying it wasn’t their fault that it was my fault. He was very rude to her and her. i asked her if I could please speak to him. He got on the phone and yelled at me that I ordered lo mein. not chow mein. Which is weird because the female immediately agreed that it was an error on their part hence the reason I could go exchange or get store credit. Then said if I don’t know how to order by phone then to order in person next. I said excuse me and he then said that he wouldn’t take my order by phone any longer. I was stunned. I then told him his customer skills were horrible and he yelled even louder into the phone and said I can’t get the chow mein anymore and hung up on me. So obviously I didn’t go back because he scared the hell out of me. I was just hoping that the food we got was at least good. I had to stirred fried the noodles so that came out ok. Lemons chicken was really dry and lemon sauce real lumpy consistency. Tasted funny. Eggroll was soft and limp. Rice had no real taste so was just ok. If the food was good I would go back and deal with management but the food isn’t worth...
Read moreI have been a customer since 2012. It honestly is one of the best places to me. However I ordered my regular order. Family for 2 and a single order of fried rice. Which I have been ordering for the past 4 years. I always recieve 2 bags. This night I only got 1 bag. I asked if that was my order. I was assured it was. I get home which is a 45 min round trip. There's no fried rice I call and the girl says it was put in there. I repeat what is in the bag that I unpacked.
There is NO FRIED RICE. She tells me I can be credited or come back and get it. It was my son's order so I said I would go back. The girl tells me that's fine call us when your here so we can make it.
I'm 2 minutes out from restaurant and call to tell them. I then was told that they have cameras and that my rice was put in the bag. I stated they needed to look at the camera again. I have no Fried rice! Why would I do another 45 minute trip to them for just an order of fried rice? Rediculious! I was accused of receiving an order that I did not have! They have lost me and my family as customers. I will never recommend this restaurant again to any of my military family or friends.
The manager didn't even come out to apologize or anything. I really hope they have cameras...
