Taqueria Vallarta — Restaurant in San Antonio

Immediately walked in an there was a hostess booth we stood by and received no help for a good 5 minutes with one hostess just staring at us. Finally gestures towards the restaurant seating area. Walking through looking for a seat and all of the seats are dirty with very visible stains. We finally choose one and sit down get our drinks which was a Sweet Tea and an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade, half sweet tea) and chips. The chips were stale. The sweet tea was very thin but not terrible. The lemonade was rancid. The cups were not closed correctly and it had spilled drink all of it. My guy took one sip of it almost immediately his stomach started to hurt wasn't even a big sip. We ordered two of the Tejas plates (Plates consistent of 2 enchiladas, carne guisada, rice, refried beans, guacamole we got one as is the other no guac and charro beans instead of refried). At this point we had asked the waitress 3x for napkins which her acknowledging us but not getting them. My guy has to get up and grab them from another table since ours were completely empty. When we received our food you could smell the enchiladas. The carne guisada wasnt good it looked old and had a weird taste to it. Enchiladas weren't bad. Charro beans were actually really good best part about the meal. We paid $40 for food we didn't even really eat and ended up seriously sick after. Every time I have walked into this place, I get attitude. Just today, I walked in with my husband on his lunch break to eat. IMMITIADTLY I was given this very uncomfortable stare like I looked unappealing to her. After setting my backpack down, I told my husband," I did not like that at all!" He agreed, looking back at her and caught her doing it again, except this time she made the comment,"She looks homeless and poor. " in Spanish, and laughed. Infuriated, my husband said, "Let's go," and we left. We will never step foot in that nasty smelling place again with those nasty looking people. She judged me because I looked poor for having a backpack? I'm a student!! And she stated I looked homeless.. in scrubs?? I work 2 jobs and can pay for way better service and food at a cheaper price with better quality in food and environment. She even tried to seat us after noticing we were leaving, I told her, "No, just don't. ".. I was willing to pay good money here. I hope they shut you down! That is disgusting for anybody to say and laugh about! You should all be ashamed...

POOR SERVICE + FOOD should had known it was going to be a bad experience when the waitress couldn’t even get a simple drink order correct. The beef fajita was so rubbery when I complained all I got was attitude and eye rolls. Got fries that were just dipped in oil wasn’t even cooked just oily, they told me they won’t take that off the bill because even if I did get fries or not the hamburger combo is still the same price and to deal with it! The whole time the waitress was giving us the bare minimum of service and we had to flag her down every time we needed something. When we went to the front to speak with the manager our waitress and another worker refused to get the manager at first saying there wasn’t a manager in that day, it wasn’t until we got into a screaming match with the workers when suddenly there’s a manager in! But with workers who are willing to argue with guest we should had known the manager just like the rest of her staff! And refused to be any...
