Went there this morning and did not have a good experience. I've been here twice so far and both times was not impressed. The first time, the service was the killer, and this time was no different. I walked into the restaurant and was not greeted, no problem. I walked up to the register to make a to go order, nothing...no acknowledgement what so ever. No "How can I help you?". No "How are you doing?" Nothing. Someone paying for their bill got their attention before I did and was serviced before I was, even though I was standing in front of the register before they were.

I was annoyed to say the least but went ahead and made my order. They ended up somehow not charging me for my full order, instead they charged me for half my order and let me wait almost 30 mins before realizing their mistake. I thought it was my full order since the damn bill was almost $6 for only TWO tacos. And these aren't even big tacos mind you. This place is really expensive for what you get. The beans were salty as all get out and the fajitas were ok, nothing to write home about. Overall, the service really needs help and is the reason I will not be coming back. They've proved this on more than one occasion so I am sold that their service sucks. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you wanted terrible service and mediocre food that's a bit too expensive for what you get. I guess you're paying for their location off...

I went to this place for the first time and i was extremely disappointed with the service and food, especially since I ordered Mexican Barbacoa to end up eating Grounded Up Roast and can't believe ypu people are getting away with because it clearly mentions on your menu you serve Barbacoa which is NOT. That is a clear Violation of a Deceptive Trade Practice Act for Deceptively engaging in serving something that you clearly Do Not. So, i Highly and Strongly Recommend you people get with the program and STOP trying to keep your cost down by serving something that you DO NOT SERVE there. Because NEXT time I go there and if I get served grounded up Roast I shall take evasive legal action against your establishment because Barbacoa has a very distinctive taste, color and texture. You people are committing HIGH ROBBERY and your practice needs to STOP A.S.A.P. You people have no excuse to justify your Deceptiveness and I shall be keeping you under my radar. So, BEWARE because people Iike me exist that ABHOR SOCIAL INJUSTICE.... FOLKS wake up and stop going to this place because they are out to...

I stopped in for lunch and the place is a bit busy which usually is a good sign. Not a fancy place and very little parking. Most of the customers have to park on the curb in the surrounding street. I sat myself and ordered beef enchiladas. Thay give chips and salsa while you wait for your order to arrive. The chips were very greasy and leave a bad taste in my mouth. The beef enchiladas came and as usual with beens, rice, small salad and tortillas. Beens were good, rice has no spices "which I've noticed most places dont use the spices grandma used like comino, garlic powder and chile powder" and I'm not going a big fan of carrots and peas in my rice as they have. The Enchiladas were on red tortillas which didn't hold well and fell apart when cut into and again not much flavor of mexican spices in the picadillo as grandma did. Of coarse no one cooks like my grandma did but i would like to see a little more prde taken and put some flavor in the food. The Sweet Tea and homeade flower tortillas were good and service ok. So this is why I gave...

This is one of the better Mexican Breakfast locations in SA. Their menu is more diverse than most other locations. Not to mention they have decent pricing per quantity of food. The parking is on the side of the street. Lastly, the service was excellent. I started with a small Menudo which could have used slightly more seasoning but at least it came with a good amount of meat. Overall still very good. The corn Tortillas that came with the menudo were all really dry and crumbled apart very easily. Afterwards I ordered a "huevos Rancheros plate with barbcoa". The plate came with 2 eggs over a tostada-like tortilla with a good amount of salsa over it. The barbacoa was season and cooked well. It also came with a side of refried beans and potatoes mixed with chorizo. I really enjoyed the potato mix but I would recommend to initially cook the potatoes without/substitute the vegetable oil because the flavor was almost masked by the oil. Overall, I would still recommend this restaurant to others.

This place had a fairly decent setting and seemed like it was going be a nice place. The waitress took about 10 minutes to come take our drink order and then another 10 minutes to bring 3 drinks, some chips, and "salsa" to the table. I ordered sweet tea and was brought unsweetened tea, then was told that is all they have. The "salsa" was Prego or Ragu pasta sauce with some kick to it. Once our food order was placed, we waited for another 20 minutes before it was brought to our table. Only got half of my order even after saying that I'm missing the rice and beans. The food was decent but nothing to write home to mama about. When we got the bill, I picked up my buddies tab as well as mine. The total between the two Bill's was $19.97 but when I was brought my receipt for signature, I was charged $20.00. I know it is only $.03 BUT that is beside the point. You can't just do something like that and think it is fine. Overall, the service sucked and the food was not all that great.

Just astonishingly good food, especially for the prices. Perfectly crisp chips, hand made tortillas cooked just right. The cilantro crema on the enchiladas was frothy, herbaceous, and delicate and was incredible together with the chicken enchiladas and the white sauce, which seemed to be something between cheese and crema. Beans were on point. The green and red sauces they served were also outstanding. The green sauce seemed to be a lovely guactillo that was significantly spicier than a green sauce usually is. It was bright, creamy, with a vague note of citrus, and was luxuriously spicy in the mouth with a clean finish that didn’t linger. The red seemed to be perhaps an árbol chile sauce(?), and was acidic, earthy, and took its time burning pleasantly in the back of the throat. Two of us ate, extremely hearty meals, for less than $20. Probably the best meal we had in San Antonio.
