On April 23, 2025, I was driving on 281 right next to the course. Suddenly, a golf ball flies over from the golf course and shatters my windshield, sending broken glass flying everywhere inside the vehicle. I called the course after I got off the highway and found a safe place to stop. A young lady answered the phone. I reported everything that happened, and she placed me on hold while she got the manager. A few moments later, she returned to the phone. I could hear her manager in the background instructing her on what information to get from me. After giving her the details and police report number, she said she was sending an email to the CEO and HR and that they would get back to me. I informed her I had dash cam footage of when the impact took place and coordinates showing my exact location when the ball hit my windshield. A police report was filed since the damage was extensive, and required a complete replacement of the windshield. Because of the damage I was not able to work until the damage was fixed. I lost several days of work because of this (I drive for a living).
A couple of days later, I followed up with the course. Another young lady answered the phone at approximately 12:04 on April 25. I explained the situation to her. After a few moments, she transferred me to the Golf Director's line. She told me I would have to talk to him, and if there was no answer, to leave a message with my contact information. I left a voicemail.
It's been almost a month the incident, and I haven't received any form of follow up or communication from the course. I am amazed at how the course, being right next to a heavily commuted highway, does not have safety nets to prevent golf balls from hitting vehicles (god forbid a motorcyclist) on the highway, risking...
Read moreI want to bring to everyone’s attention an idiotic policy practiced by the Alamo City Golf Trail. My fellow golfer plays with one prosthetic leg. He has his own handicap flag that attaches to the golf cart which usually allows him to drive most anywhere on the golf course, including near but not on the putting green. He notified the clubhouse employees at Brackenridge Golf Course of his situation and we were told they set up his golf cart accordingly. However, on the very first hole which is a “cart path only” hole, he should have been allowed to drive onto the fairway but he was restricted. I immediately called the clubhouse advising of his situation and was told that his cart will not be allowed onto fairways of “cart path only” holes but will be allowed near the putting greens. What an idiotic policy! The walking distance from the cart path to his ball on the other side of the fairway made it difficult and tiresome for him. There were other “cart path only” holes so he unfortunately had to trek several times. What further infuriated me was after the round we were told that two of our senior aged golfers notified an employee at the clubhouse that they requested the golf cart restriction be removed from their cart because they were old. It was granted and they had no restrictions! They were able to drive onto all of the fairways, including “cart path only” holes. I applaud my playing partner for not allowing his handicap from keeping him away from playing golf. I think the course needs to amend their policy (or better train all of their employees) to better accommodate those...
Read moreLet’s stay on top of the maintenance. Several fairways were just dirt on either the entire left side OR right side. More fairways need to be Cart Path Path only. Way too much cart traffic. More people need to walk. The photo enclosed (14) looks like it’s on the way to being dirt only.
Olmos greens are starting to look like Willow which FINALLY got closed.
TODAY, 4/18/25, out of town family member paid $87 for terrible green and fairway conditions. This course even when conditions were good/ fair never merited top tier of fees.
The ONLY decent course right now is Cedar Creek.
Apparently, a relatively new honcho who doesn’t know ANYTHING about central and south Texas weather and soil conditions has been overriding experienced staff and thus led to current terrible green and fairway conditions. I’ll will try to update today’s photos and try to tie in to these Germaine comments.
These conditions will lead to good golfers paying higher green fees elsewhere that actually merit better field conditions. Quarry, Canyon Springs, La Cantera, etc. will start experiencing an uptick in business.
The 3 newer photos were conditions for green 3, fairway 7, and green 13. If conditions are apparently know like in a recent post by ACGT regarding Riverside conditions there should be an EXPECTATION of lower green fees UNTIL conditions have...
