I want to express my experience at el mirasol this past 02/04/24 I had been to el mirasol before and been served by Jairo multiple times, great service ! So I decided to invite my coworkers, and managers as well to come try the famous chispas and margaritas! Thinking myself we were going to be treated as a customer should be , once again Jairo was our server and once again EXCELLENT service ! But once it was time to go one of my coworkers/friend got up to the restroom mind you she was in a stage were she was tipsy but not drunk like so , so we decided to go with her to the restroom and wait for her when she came out, other coworkers that were at my table decided to joke around about how chispas were starting to hit her so we decided to grab her from one side to another and this is were I think it’s disrespectful, this waiter which name is VICTOR said a comment in front of us SCREAMED “ alguien venga a limpiar el baño que ya se vomitaron ” which just to clarify that never happen my friend went to the restroom just to do her business (pee if you really want me to clarify) and mind you he has made comments but never took it personal since I have no relationship with him but now I feel like he’s getting personal saying comments every time we walk pass him , as a frequent customer at el mirasol I think that’s not how a customer should be treated and I don’t think that looks very professional from his side . Also not including that when they were taking us chips they were putting the new baskets of chips on top of the old one , myself working at a restaurant I don’t think it looks professional/ sanitary . It’s not a big deal could’ve been she’s new at el mirasol or something just wanted to...
Read moreI had visited this location with a friend for lunch pre-covid and it was good. Most of the time, my husband and I would go to the Blanco location. During covid, we've tried several times but the wait times were usually 45 minutes or longer so we would go elsewhere.
Finally, we timed it just right last night and wer able to be seated outdoors. I can see why it's so popular. Without us having to say anything, the staff set up the propane heaters next to our table since there was a chill in the air. I loved the Spanish music that was playing. It definitely created a great ambiance and vibe.
For drinks, I had the merlot and my husband tried the traditional chispas margarita and we both enjoyed them. Loved that the chips and salsa were just free-flowing too. I ordered the seafood parrillada which was a sizzling plate of grilled scallops, shrimp, tilapia, peppers, and onions. It came with beans and rice and fixings to eat it with tortilla. My husband ordered the lobster enchilada which I've had at the Blanco location. He shared some with me and it was delicious. Love the sauce! My husband ordered the calamari too. Generous portion and big pieces of calamari! I didn't get to try it since I was already full but we did take the leftovers home. We ended the meal with flan and that was a sweet ending.
This was definitely one of the better outdoor dining experiences for us so we'll be back...
Read moreIf it wasn't for my waitress, I would have given 1 star. The food was absolutely delicious. But as for the service, the service was devastating. There was 1 waitress taking care of me, but then 3 waiters came up after her, asking the same exact thing! It was like watching an episode of the keystone cops, ridiculously annoying, which made it funny. When I got a thimble of salsa (pictured below) and a huge basket of chips, I thought it was a joke. But then I got up to go to the restroom and when I returned, my table had been completely cleared and set up for new customers. I went and sat back down and everybody rushed over to restock my table. But not one person apologized except the waitress who didn't do anything wrong.
When my food came, I didn't receive any tortillas. But my waitress was working 2 huge tables with no assistance, so I asked a waiter who was walking by, and he thought I was joking. He actually had the guts to tell me that my enchiladas were my tortillas. I then had to forcefully ask for them and asked for flour and he brought me corn. My waitress came back and again apologized for something she didn't do wrong.
I have told many people about my horrible experience and hopefully they take my advice. For a restaurant that says it's a "Mexican restaurant", and serves white rice and no beans, should not be considered a Mexican restaurant.
I will...
