I took my 4 year old son with me for the first time here today at 5:15pm, I asked the lady up front to place sprinkles on my sons small ice cream cup after she mixed them in and her response was that they can’t put any toppings on top of ice cream bc it will get all over the other toppings. I know this is a small reason to not come back but it’s honestly ridiculous considering that ice-cream places should be a family oriented place. She could have at least offered me a side of sprinkles which I would had happily paid extra to make my son happy. Also the atmosphere had a plant on the wall that can be easily access to customers which my son kept trying to pull and touch and all they did was put a sign saying “do not touch”. I will not be returning due them not being opened minded to those with children. Ice cream is good but overpriced for what we got.
This is my response to the owner that comment below - my my son waited and asked for sprinkles in a soft tone which she heard, then I attempted to ask for sprinkles, and her repose was “we cannot place sprinkles on top due to them getting all over the other ingredients sorry about that”, it’s just funny how she can bend the rules when it comes to wearing her AirPods while speaking with customers, lie to the owner about how the interaction between me and her went and then deny me sprinkles for my 4 year old ice cream. These people are not only liars but clearly don’t know how to run a business. Thank you for your response and little support for...
Read moreWaited awhile before someone behind the counter said, I can help whoever is next. Turns out, "helping" wasn't actually what the individual meant. They directed me to a screen at the front of the store away from the menu to order with an air of it being obvious that's what I was supposed to do and walked away. I got stuck in a few places and when I looked up hopefully for help, I caught a noticeable eye roll and they came over to explain the obviousness of the system. Was told, "we don't do toppings, only mix-ins" although several menu items indicated topping available. I don't mind long waits, I understand being short-staffed, but wow, I felt like I didn't belong and wasn't welcome. I'll stick to my local place that doesn't sneer when I don't know the exact way to insert my card, how something works, and welcomes newcomers. Would have liked to see dairy-free mix instead and toppings too.
*Update: After trying our ice cream, my husband and I both remarked, wow that's too bad because the ice cream is really good for the service...
Read moreNitrogen made ice cream- long overdue in San Antonio! Excellently displayed nitrogen tank in front window. This isn't just a gimmick. This is a place to get multiple flavors of ice cream, customized with multiple options of items to have mixed into it. Your customized choice is prepared in mere seconds as you're standing there. The best part for me personally? - Several non dairy options! This is not usually doable for ice cream, however with the use of nitrogen, you can also choose from bases such as oat milk, almond milk, and I think, coconut milk. (I opted for oat milk both times, as I cannot have dairy). If you've never had the pleasure of consuming fresh made ice cream, you'll understand why this is such a fantastic concept. (Think of homemade ice cream you churned as a child.) Both times I was there, the employees were extremely friendly and professional. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is an impressive, young entrepreneur. This place is long overdue for San Antonio and absolutely worth a...
