Firehouse Subs Northwood — Restaurant in San Antonio

Update. 6:09pm, we get home and 2 of 3 sandwiches are wrong. One sandwich was only ham and bread. The receipt was correct, with add lettuce tomatoes and mayo for a kids sandwich. But it came with nothing at all. The brisket sandwich barely had any brisket and it had mayo when it said no mayo on the receipt. If we lived closer, we would go back and get our money back for this. So disappointing. Waste of money ordering here today.

I'm not sure what was going on this visit, as we have been here many times, but this time, we waited, with an almost empty lobby, for about 30 minutes while the staff just stood around talking and cussing with each other, make a sandwich, than talk some more, before doing another sandwich. The vulgarity of the conversation loudly taking place in a tiny space, was a bit shocking, but more so that they would stop working to have this conversation. Got there before 530pm on 3/29/25 and left right before 6pm. They could have been really slammed with online orders, idk, but it was awkward hearing the staff talk like that with my infant and 9...

We have been visiting this same location for many years and always great food. It has always made me feel appreciated when asked if I qualify for any of their hero discounts, fire fighter, ems, police or military. I always reply, yes for military. After retiring from the Army for 22 years of being a medic, this place always made me feel good and proud for my service. Today was completely different and very disappointing. Today the young lady was very rude and was acting like I was attempting to cheat or do something bad, very upseting. Not sure if it's the entire franchise or just this location, they had added lots of signage at the counter stating this discount was for military while in uniform only. It's really sad, especially being here in San Antonio, military city USA. The vast majority of restaurants and retailers here have these discounts for all those who served and have proof of service. We will be eating here much less...

This was my first time trying this place. Awesome subs btw but the one thing that’ll for sure get someone to go back besides good food is good customer service. I had a complication with my order and called , I tried working out my problem and see how it can be fixed and instead the girl was rude , sounded like she didn’t care to help me at all. Well she hung up on me , I called back, she hung up on me AGAIN. After calling the store I’m sure she recognized my number and didn’t answer anymore. I called from a different number and she answered this time almost immediately. I’m sad to say but this isn’t great customer service. If you’re gonna spend money on a place you expect to get good service. I do recommend this place but I Do not recommend this location. I work in the food industry myself and I’ve never dealt with someone like this and won’t ever. Hanging up doesn’t solve the problem , bc now I’m here...
