I ordered three entrees and two sides. The first one was the firecracker beef. The beef was hard and chewy like it was some sort of jerky coated in a soggy mushy coating. Not impressed. The second was Ginger chicken and broccoli on soft noodles. The noodles seem like they were old and chewy. For an almost $10 entree there were four tiny pieces of broccoli in it. Not really impressed. The last one was general tso's chicken. The chicken was coated with some sort of mush that was fried. It was supposed to come with lettuce cups. So I got a wedge of lettuce on the side. It was about 1/8 of a head of lettuce but cost the same as three whole heads of lettuce. Not very impressive. The two sides consisted of an extra order of lo mein and some Vietnamese rolls. They weren't at all what was explained to me by the person who took the order. I thought at least the lo mein would be stir fried in some sort of tasty sauce, but no, They were dry ( no sauce or flavoring of any kind) bland and guess what? Yeah, chewy. Not impressed at all with this one. And the Vietnamese rolls were supposed to be wrapped in lettuce, have all kinds of vegetables, Thai basil, and other yummy ingredients. But they weren't. It was lettuce wrapped in rice paper with some shredded carrots inside. the sauce that came with it was supposed to be a peanut sauce. It tasted more like runny peanut butter and jelly. It did not taste like the savory Asian peanut sauce that you would normally get with spring rolls. Pass!
So if you actually want fresh food, this is not the place to go. Most of the food appeared to be leftovers, dried out, very old, overcooked, undercooked, chewy and not very...
Read moreThe customer service was great! 😃 Every employee was kind and courteous. The food came out nice and hot. Made to order. Unfortunately the food just tastes horrible. The crab racoons tasted like mozzarella cheese definitely NOT cream cheese also had red and green peppers. The egg rolls were not good either. Tasted like frozen egg rolls from a grocery store just deep fried there. Chicken and Broccoli, shrimp lomein, all seemed and tasted the same very strong on the soy sauce and just bland flavoring. The dumplings were probably the only thing I did enjoy but I have had better. We also tried the spicy Korean wings and those were a disappointment. Tasted like bland chicken and a store bought spicy sauce drenched on top of them. Most likely will not visit again. Customer service was great and nothing against the workers just the food did not taste Asian nor like the typical Asian American food they advertise. You're better off saving your monies and making it yourself or getting frozen Asian from your local grocery...
Read moreFirst time getting food here and it was absolutely delicious. Walking in the door, it smelled so good, it was making me hungry while I was looking at their menu board. I had the honey-seared chicken with fried rice and a pork egg roll. Brought it home with orange chicken and fried rice for my son. The chicken was tender, absolutely no overcooked and hard pieces.. The honey was just the right amount without it overwhelming the entire dish. The chicken, along with the fried rice was perfectly seasoned. Even though the take out container looked small, it had enough food to fill me up and have leftovers for lunch the next day. The restaurant itself was clean with the fountain drink area tidy and fully stocked. I like that there are to-go containers so we don't have to ask for them at the register. Also, having extra fortune cookies at the fountain drink area is a nice bonus as I love fortune cookies. Over all, Pei Wei is my favourite place to go...
