My boyfriend and I come here every Tuesday because he works very early every Wednesday morning 3 miles down Stone Oak. We live in Austin. I just wanted to post this because ALL the staff here are very friendly. They know us my name without looking at their computer. I have a service animal and of course I allow them to love on him. Luca likes the gang too. It just is so nice to feel like there is a SAFE, CLEAN and comfortable bed (i am serious- great mattress and pillows here) that is NOT my home in Austin but is now our home in San Antonio every Tuesday. Another WONDERFUL perk here is LIFETIME is right across the street and guess what? This is the gym you get to use when you stay at this Courtyard by Marriott for all your workout needs! Like this is the best gym- like what DON’T they offer?? Honestly, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, jacuzzis, every pound of iron you care to lift, every machine that you can dream of, the nicest locker rooms with complimentary lockers that you set with your custom code, super duper clean, all sorts of group classes or hey how about zero working out but a healthy meal or a full service salon with any product one may want or need- my case- i am a product junkie so it is definitely always a WANT lol…. Anyways, a superb facility as a free amenity when staying at THIS location. I feel very safe here. “Nice neighborhood,” if you want to call it. Right off the highway, yet little noise do I ever hear. I can walk my dog at 3 am and I never fear. My car is safe. Well lit lot as well. Green belt behind hotel for walking your 4 legged family members. Last, front lobby to the left is where breakfast and dinner items are available with a full service bar to boost. Of course, a smiling face to pour that glass of wine after a long day of traveling or a premium martini to enjoy while someone may join you who lives local. There are plenty of contemporary and comfortable chairs and multiple pockets to have intimate conversation that are not in your room but rather “your livingroom for the evening,” in this open concept lobby. Ok, can you tell we are pleased with our weekly stays?? Lol just bravo SA Courtyard. It is time for me to close my eyes now…it’s technically Wednesday 1:02am. Time for this happy customer to go...
Read moreI travel to San Antonio for work fairly often and I've stayed in this hotel twice. The first time wasn't positive, but this second time sealed my opinion that I won't ever stay here again.
Pros: The front desk was very nice, and allowed me to check in about 90 minutes before official check in time. The little cafe spot in the lobby is fine (coffee definitely isn't Starbucks quality/strength) and I had breakfast there twice over my two stays.
Cons: The rooms are dated and were due for a refresh about 3-4 years ago. My experience was consistent both in the summer and early spring... the rooms are pretty rough. In my most recent stay, the shower curtain was too short (clearly cut with scissors), the room smelled like a foot, the AC was too cold (so it didn't run long enough to dehumidify the room), the bed was really hard, the fridge wouldn't stop running, the toilets don't flush unless you hold down the handle (and even if you do, the power is insufficient, so they clog easy) ,and I found multiple bugs crawling around. Also, they are building something next door, so be prepared for construction noise starting around 6:30am and going till about 7pm.
In my previous stay, over the summer, I had the same problem with the Air Conditioner working 'too well', so it only runs for like 3 minutes, which isn't long enough to dehumidify the room. The outcome is a room that is cool, but really humid (like 60-70% humidity). I had the same problems with toilet getting clogged, and generally the furniture is really worn and kinda gross.
Overall, very...
Read moreI stayed here the weekend of mothers day as a treat from my husband to have some time to myself. What I really wanted was a sleep in and a soak in a nice tub! we picked this hotel because they had reasonably priced spa rooms and I'd had good experience with courtyard marriott in the past. I was disappointed to hear the pool, gym and restaurant were closed (which meant no breakfast, although you can buy a takeaway breakfast for $5, interesting how they couldn't comp that as well considering) It just would have been nice to know all that when I booked the room. Luckily I hadn't really planned on using those facilities anyway. When I got to my room I noticed there were little potato bugs dead on the tile near the tub and in the bathroom, maybe 15 total. I called the front desk and he just said that there wasn't much they could do to keep them away and vacuumed them up for me. They didn't have any more spa rooms available so I couldn't move to another room. About an hour later I saw another one crawling across the tile. I just put all of my stuff on the furniture and made sure I left nothing on the floor for them to crawl into and tried to forget about it. I woke up to a few more dead on the tile the next morning and just checked out. As I was doing so I noticed someone else's key card on the shelf near the door, and it was clear that this room hadn't been checked thoroughly when it was cleaned, nor before I checked in, since the bugs should have been removed and the room sprayed for them. Here's hoping they invest in better pest control...
