February 2025 Decided to revisit Full Doods Diner for a business breakfast. I'm a creature of that habit and ordered the same breakfast item that I did last time visited Full Good Diner. My guest ordered something different, which was the Barbacoa.
We were able to enjoy our meeting and experience the same good service, food and atmosphere.
October 2024 I'm back at Full Goods Diner after about 3 months. It's located down around the corner from the Hotel Emma.
I met a colleague for breakfast. I opted to try the Migas plate this morning, with some coffee. Dana, our server, took real good care of us. Our food came after a short wait. This gave me a chance to get caught up with my friend. My migas plate was really good. It had a blend of avocado and migas. I checked a flour and corn tortillas (one of each). The accompanying hot sauce (small green holder) was good. Putting this on the migas tempered the spiciness, as just by itself may be too spicy for out of town guests - unless you are used to a little heat.
Overall, I will be back, and I'm looking forward to trying another dish from this establishment.
If you visit, I hope your experience is as good as mine.
August 2024
I was introduced to this place this morning, 8/8/24, and wasn't sure what to expect.
I was greeted by David, who was at the front entrance area, and also acted as a server for the tables. They have booths and tables, and I took a booth in this case. They also have outside dining. However, it was a little too warm to dine outside at 8:30 in the morning in San Antonio, and also too sunny for me. David seated me at a table for two.
We ordered our drinks, and I ordered the drip coffee, and my guest ordered an ice coffee. These arrived shortly after our ordering them. Given this was my first time visiting this restaurant, David gave me ample time to review the menu, and I decided to play it safe and order the classic breakfast (see picture). My guest ordered the Texas hash (see picture) - my guest had been to the restaurant before, so they knew what they wanted to order faster than I did đ.
The food was a tasty, beautiful presentation, and enough to fill your stomach, even for a hearty eater. My plate came with toast, which was a multi-grain sourdough bread. It was pre-buttered, and the plate came with a side of raspberry jelly and ketchup.
Service was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional. I can't give the staff high enough marks for their attentiveness to their customers.
I definitely will be back, and if you visit, I hope your experience is as...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Full Goods Diner and was thoroughly impressed with the variety and quality of their menu offerings. From their delectable Peanut Butter & Jelly Danish to their flavorful Chorizo Empanada, Pancake, and Kale Salad, each dish was a delightful culinary experience.
Let's start with the Peanut Butter & Jelly Danish. This unique twist on a classic treat was a true delight. The flaky pastry was perfectly baked and filled with a generous amount of creamy peanut butter and sweet jelly. The combination of the rich, nutty flavors with the slight tanginess of the jelly created a heavenly balance that left me craving more.
Next, the Chorizo Empanada was a standout item on the menu. The empanada had a crispy, golden-brown crust that encased a savory and well-seasoned filling. The chorizo provided a delightful kick of spiciness, while the other ingredients complemented it perfectly. Each bite was bursting with flavor, making it a must-try for those who appreciate bold and satisfying tastes.
Moving on to the Pancake, Full Goods Diner truly knows how to create a breakfast staple that exceeds expectations. The pancake was fluffy, moist, and had just the right amount of sweetness. It was cooked to perfection, with a golden-brown exterior that added a lovely crispness to each bite. Served with a side of maple syrup and butter, it was a breakfast indulgence that left me completely satisfied.
Last but not least, the Kale Salad was a refreshing and nutritious addition to the meal. The salad featured crisp, fresh kale leaves tossed in a flavorful dressing that enhanced the natural earthiness of the greens. The addition of complementary ingredients like crunchy almonds, sweet cranberries, and tangy vinaigrette created a harmonious combination of textures and flavors. It was a healthy and delicious option that left me feeling nourished.
The service at Full Goods Diner was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
Overall, Full Goods Diner exceeded my expectations with their diverse menu and exceptional dishes. Whether you're looking for a unique twist on a classic pastry, a flavorful and satisfying empanada, a fluffy pancake for breakfast, or a refreshing kale salad, Full Goods Diner is sure to deliver a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend visiting this establishment for a culinary adventure that will leave your taste buds satisfied and wanting to come...
Read moreThe Hostess aggressively ignored me & I was the only person who entered at that moment. I eventually found my way with zero help from her, I guess to her I was invisible. They ran out of appetizers, honestly I don't recall which 2 we ended up with - OH, 1 was the strawberry rhubarb (very minimal filling) & the other was a tiny loaf BOTH were dry & dull. The drinks were fair, not very flavorful. The Migas barely had any tortilla mixed in, the order was incorrect. I did not want the shredded pork, I was given a large scoop of it. I asked for bacon, the waiter asked ME if I wanted the bacon put on the migas or on the side and I said on the migas, they came on a side plate. I'm getting bored typing all the things that went wrong. I believe our waiter was good. I want people to remember that if things go wrong in a restaurant it's not always the waiter or waitress because sometimes the kitchen is making mistakes all over the place, sometimes there is not good management, sometimes the bar can't get their act together. This waiter was attentive he asked questions he was conscientious. I don't think that any of these issues were the fault of our waiter. I think he did his best to do his best with what he was given to work with. It all comes back to management, and ownership. Owners/investors need to be aware of what's going on in their places of business and who they hire to manage those businesses. The bacon was all right, the eggs were fine but I can get the same at Denny's, maybe even better for half the price with interesting atmosphere. I have no interest in returning to Full...
