My gluten-free french toast was devine, I did not get glutened as a celiac. I am very thankful for this! The coffee was warm, not hot. Even after we asked for a 2nd pot, it was warm and low quality tasting. I would have done better to visit local coffee down the street. The kitchen can plate all the complicated but can't produce a simple hot coffee, toasted bread, and 2 boiled eggs.

My experience is the following: I ordered toast with soft boiled eggs. Only one of the 3 slices was toasted. I was first served 2 over cooked peeled hard boiled eggs in a bowl. I tried it, gross. I politely asked for them to correct my egg order. 30 minutes later and the chef could not produce one soft boiled egg, telling the staff the eggs were breaking. The manager and server kept on apologizing profusely and even offered to comp my meal. I never asked to see the manager, and I was very thankful they noticed the delay. I wasn't even bothered at this point. Finally, a single egg was brought out peeled. It was not soft boiled, just slightly runny yolk. Soft boiled are served shelled. I was asked if the egg was to my liking. I took it because I was really hungry for protein by this point. It took 10 minutes later to get the 2nd egg. By this point, I was left scratching my head, no longer casual to the situation, and feeling quite perpexibly angry. A good soft boiled egg is literally putting an egg in boiling water for 4-5 minutes and served shelled. This is a basic classic. I have made 100s of soft boiled eggs in my lifetime. This takes no chef training!

Emma is a five-star hotel with a starting cost of around $60,000 for a wedding banquet, but the kitchen couldn't produce a traditional soft boiled egg, hot coffee, and toasted bread. With the Cordon Blue culinary school down the street, you would think the staff was properly trained! I expressed my frustration to the server and manager, who were beyond helpful and understanding. Its crazy that the crux of showcasing an incompetent kitchen was their ability to soft boil a single egg! I've had restaurants decline or offer poached eggs. The situation was quite bizarre for such a usually reputable and delicious location.

I'm putting pics of the delicious French toast and a pic of my own soft boiled egg made this morning for a propper example....

The dinner was pretty good but there could be some improvements to the service and entrees.  The atmosphere there is great - the outside patio is pleasant and nice along the river.  Cocktail options were varied and pretty good.  We started with the steak tartare, which was delicious.  Lots of varied flavors and the pepitas gave it good texture.

For entrees, we had the red fish and quail.  While the fish was well cooked and tasty, the sauce was a huge detractor to the dish.  They called it a "kumquat peri peri", which to me would be a bright, citrusy spicy sauce (and the waiter even said it was spicy).  However, instead it was not spicy at all and was a too-sweet tomato-tasting sauce which paired poorly with the brine olive and orange flavors.  I tried my best not to get it on the fish as I ate it.  The quail said smoked and fried - and was definitely just a breaded fried quail.  While it was okay, I feel like fine dining places need to stay away from trying to do fried poultry.  I think they get the idea it's fun to do an up scale version of fried chicken and potatoes, however they are never going to compete with established fried chicken places.  This is ALL they do and they have perfected it.  Fine dining needs to stick to what they are good at, which is (or at least should be) making complex dishes with incredible flavors.  Instead they took a small, delicate tasting bird and made it meh.

The service was also a detractor.  While it was okay at first and drinks and food came out quickly, it was after receiving our entrees that we barely saw our waiter again.  He did not come by to check how the mains were and we ran out of water at dinner and were never offered anything else. He came by after we been done for a while and asked if we wanted desert menus.  I said no, but my partner wanted to see about an after dinner cocktail, however he left too quickly for him to ask and did not come back for so long he gave up and we just got the check. Disappointing end.

Overall, I would still recommend if...

The food was absolutely amazing! The steak frittes were really well made and our server was very friendly and funny. I really appreciate the class of service I received yesterday for my first time being there from most of the staff. What I did not expect nor appreciate was a very rude employee from the bar who went out of her way to be very rude to my friend's and I. Her name was Kim, I'm not sure what her problem was. I definitely did not appreciate my treatment of her coming into the restaurant for the first time. I parked my vehicle and she went out of her way to leave the bar full of customers to come outside and record my car as I was parking.... My car receives a lot of attention from all the countless charities that I'm involved in as well as just from the exotic vehicle it is. She proceeded to tell my group and I she was only recording to send it to her friends and make fun of the vehicle. When my friend's and I asked her why?she ignored us and walked away. Little did she know we were eating at the restaurant she works at. It was a weird situation. Why come outside to record my car if you don't like it? Anyways it left a sour taste in my mouth if Supper, the restaurant is hiring rude individuals like this to work at this fine establishment. I did not feel welcomed whatsoever in this restaurant with her presence. I'm not sure if she just hates exotic car owners because she doesn't have one or she was having a bad day (which I doubt) she was very happy recording. But management needs to talk to her about not ditching work while she has customers and she also needs a course refresher on customer service and...

We made a reservation the day before and went to Supper on a Saturday night- we got there early and they did seat us right away. I am not sure this is always possible but I definitely recommend a reservation. The ambiance is amazing- it's a gorgeous location and we had a lovely table. This is a perfect place for an anniversary or special dinner of any kind. I am absolutely in love with the building and the place is immaculately decorated. The wait staff was also wonderful and worked as a team to make sure we had truly five star service. The food was unbelievable. I had the quail, which was quite good. The corn relish and potatoes it came with really made the dish something special. My husband and his friend for the steak and said it was one of the best steaks they had ever had in their lives: high praise because the two of them eat and cook a LOT of steaks. My friend had the fish and it was delicious. She loved it and really enjoyed the green beans as well. We got two deserts to split among the four of us and it was more than enough. The sticky toffee pudding was incredibly rich and delicious. The Panna cotta was also super good and very cool and refreshing on a hot summer day. We had a wonderful time. My friend had the three Emmas drink and enjoyed it. I asked for a mocktail, and I have no idea what it is they gave me but it was phenomenal. I wish I knew what it was so I could drink 100 more- and it was so nice of them to accommodate me. They were also very helpful with allergy information. Our wait staff was so kind and attentive and really brought the whole experience to a 10/10.
