I meant to post this review a couple of days ago, but unfortunately, life has gotten in the way these past couple of days. My brother is currently fighting two stage four cancers and has had to have many different major surgeries (along with all of their complications). Well, his birthday is actually today (July 15th) and he has to have another major surgery (originally, his surgery was supposed to be Friday, July 14th. It was postponed until today, but at the time of this event, it was supposed to be done Friday and if all went well, he would be recovering in the hospital today.) Anyways, his food and drink cut off period was at midnight on Thursday, July 13th. And he begged us to get him some Krispy Kreme Cake Batter Donuts before midnight, because he didn't think he'd be out of the hospital for his birthday. We were coming from out of town, and racing to get to a Krispy Kreme in time, but our gps said we wouldn't make it to the closest one until 10:02pm, 2 minutes after closing. We called the store and spoke to a woman on the phone and explained our situation. We asked if there was anyway at all they could possibly hold just a few cake batter donuts for us for just 2 minutes after closing and she told us to just come up to the window when we got there. We got there 5 minutes later because of traffic, and when we finally got to the window and when she confirmed that it was us who placed the call, she went back and brought us a whole box of donuts saved for him. SO to this woman and that crew working the closing shift on Thursday, July 13th 2023. Thank y'all so much! Y'all made this man so happy. It may see like this was just a simple thing because donuts are just donuts, but it meant so much to my brother because he hasn't been able to celebrate his birthday in years. Last year he almost died on his birthday due to sepsis, this year it's surgery. So it meant a lot to him to have something he really enjoys. We felt truly blessed by the staff here. Thank y'all! A big thank you to that young woman on the phone! I wish I would've asked for your name. Thank y'all! (Also, to corporate, please do not get this young lady or her crew in trouble. I highly doubt they make It a habit to accept phone calls like that and hold donuts. This was the sweetest experience ever and y'all should feel blessed to have employees like them. I hesitate when posting this because they deserve praise, but I've heard of people getting fired for good deeds and I sincerely hope Krispy Kreme isn't like that. If so, they'd lose my business. But this experience has encouraged me to visit this one as much as possible, so thank you again to the employees up there. Y'all did a wonderful thing and made my brother feel...

I want to give praise to the Manager, Mario, before I rip into my review. He made me feel heard and respected after being completely disrespected by one of his employees.
When at the window, I asked an employee for a specific doughnut to see if it was still a thing. There was a miscommunication between us and I told her, ‘Never mind, you’re not understanding what I’m asking, and that’s okay. I’ll take the doughnuts I’ve already ordered.’ When I arrived at the window, the girl I was speaking to left and a male employee (Gavin) came up and rudely told me that the girl at the window was confirming they have the doughnuts I was asking for and he ‘heard her say it 3 times.’ I smiled and said, ‘that’s okay, we weren’t understanding each other’. Gavin came out with my doughnuts and shoved them in my hand forcing my arm into my shoulder. I was very confused because the entire time, I kept a nice tone of voice and was smiling. After a second, I realized he was being malicious and actually trying to cause me harm. I asked him for his name and he said NO with an head tilt and attitude and slammed the window doors in my face. I looked for my receipt to get a name off of it, but he didn’t hand me one. I waited for a few seconds before getting the attention of another employee. I asked for the managers name (because Gavin was dressed differently that the other KK employees), but it ended up him being an employee and the girl got a manager for me to express my experience. Again, Mario was super nice and this isn’t against him or his store. All of the other employees were super nice to me. I was calm when explaining what happened, I never cursed or raised my voice. Gavin should not be working the window, especially with his hostile demeanor. I haven’t even touched these doughnuts because they feel tainted, and I bought...
Read moreSo...we rarely visit krispy kreme...but we made a donut run for another person that is homebound. We arrived at the DeZavala location enticed by the Friday Chocolate Donut promotion...which is what was wanted by the person we were buying for. While placing the order, the person taking the order was different from the person who actually negotiated the transaction with the credit card. Unbeknownst to us...this male KK employee, charged the card but did not give us a receipt. We had to return to the store to request a receipt. He was extremely bothered that we were asking for a receipt. I asked him if it was the policy of KK not to give receipts...he answered...no it was just him. So then he said that we were holding up the line...which we weren't. I advised him that we needed a receipt and observed that on our return trip he also did not give the car in front of us a receipt either. He became upset and threw the window closing it on us. He said take it up with corporate...that he didn't care. Mario manager steps in...we explained we needed the receipt to avoid being scammed. He was trying to be understanding...but it is difficult to deal with a rogue employee that makes his own policy. By the way...there was really no special on the chocolate Friday and rogue employee could not vocalize the promotion. Needless to say...this rogue employee was promoting his own policy with holes. From rude treatment and no receipt...visit the...
