OVER ALL A GREAT PLACE TO STAY… I spent countless hours going through reviews on nearly every hotel in San Antonio, I wasn’t impressed. Even reading these, I was very hesitant but I AM SO GLAD WE CHOSE THIS HOTEL. - The room was great, it was nice and cleaned well. When I arrived one of the workers had just gone and checked all vacant rooms to make sure they were clean and ready for guests. The A/C worked great and the room smelled great as well. (I forgot to take pictures of the room when I first arrived, but I included photos after we had stayed) The only thing I could nit pick on, was the fitted sheet wasn’t the softest but everything else was great. The room has a decent sized mini fridge and microwave. - many reviews for here talked about weird smells in the building, as soon as I walked it smelled wonderful. The hallway smelled a bit off on the third floor but in our room it smelled fine so it wasn’t a problem. - the breakfast is what you would expect, the Texas Waffles were great and they had a wide variety of selections for everything. The staff was very quick to help and get anything if needed. For example, the juice ran out and she immediately replaced it once she was informed. - the staff was all very helpful and nice. Anything I needed or had asked they immediately helped with a wonderful attitude. - it’s currently July 22, 2021; the gym is still closed but the pool is open.

This stay went from bad to worse. We arrived after a long drive and were given a room on the second floor. We took the elevator up and were horrified to see another person’s belongings and the room was an absolute mess. We backed out and immediately went to the front desk and told the clerk what we saw. He said no one should be in there since the room was marked green. He then gave us a room on the third floor. He had us wait so that he could go check to make sure room was empty. I am fighting cancer for the second time and after long trip with our special needs kiddo we were exhausted. We get to our room and try to relax and watch tv. Then as we get ready for bed we pull back covers to find stained bedding with cigarette burns. (photos attached) We tried to call down for fresh bedding but due to late hour there was no answer. Due to being immune compromised having clean bedding is very important. Then to top off everything we are awakened super early by construction going on in the lot outside our window. Please seek other hotel/accommodations if you want rest and/or clean space.

When we asked the front desk for their property insurance information to file a claim, they threatened to call police saying that I was disturbing the peace. When we asked them to preserve the security footage, she raised her voice at me and claimed that only the police can request to preserve the footage. When I asked for the name of the front desk person, she gave her name and went on an angry rant. The management is very unprofessional. Update: the manager's response is a lie. I have proof that she yelled.

Everything was great until I encountered the rudest front desk personnel in San Antonio. She was snide, rude and condescending. I saw her behave professionally with the woman in front of me. She was even kind and polite, But when she encountered me, a large black woman her entire attitude changed. I sent my daughter to ask for sheets and towels. She returned stating that the lady at the front desk (Starr) aske dhow long she would be staying and that I needed to pick up the items. So I went down stairs in order to get the sheets and towels. the woman ahead of me was a petit, white woman and Starr was perfectly nice and professional with her. Then I told Starr that I sent my daughter down here for sheets and towels but I was wondering if it was possible to have the room cleaned. She said, "As you know you have to request housekeeping by 1pm its on the paper you signed." I informed her that I didn't know that was the policy. And she goes well you signed the paper. You should know.' then she asked for the room and other information. I left and went back to my room to straighten up and finish readying my kids for the day. My husband noticed that I was visibly upset and asked what happened. I explained to him the situation and decided that i was going to report her behavior to the management team. I asked Starr for a manager and she told me that it was the managers day off. So I asked to speak to someone else and Starr told me that there was no one else to speak with. So I told her that she was rude, snide and condescending. And instead of apologizing or explaining her intent she doubled down. she gaslit me by saying that's not what she did. I explained that I her behavior was unacceptable in my perception. That is was highly offensive. She stated the policy over and over and that i had to request the cleaning before 1pm and it was only 11:30am! I asked why did she feel the need to tell me if the time limit wasn't anytime close. Then she made the comment of why would you sign something without reading it. One of the other front desk people summarized the content without mentioning the housekeeping policies. How was that my fault? I will never stay at another best western. There is a plethora of hotels that would behave more appropriately and professionally and I'd rather do...

I made a reservation with an option to pay when you stay. I arrived to San Antonio from Utah, 1400 miles away, I arrived around noon, I walked to the front desk and asked the lady who was there, can I take a look at the room to make sure it’s clean as we had an unpleasant experience earlier and I have my mother with me who is sick, therefore I would like to see the room first, and since I only reserved without paying up front, I wanted to check the room first. The lady at the front desk said that if I check the room then it’s mine, she also said that I can’t check the room and leave, and If I do cancel, she will still charge me the first night. I said is that on the hotel policy that if I check the room then I have to take it? She said, it’s her policy. Then I said that I am a customer and that I feel that she is making an issue for no reason. So I said then I would like to cancel, she said she will still charge me. So I said I shouldn’t be charged for something I didn’t receive. The whole situation seemed to be that the front desk lady just didn’t like me, maybe my skin color I don’t know. But I told her that I will get the refund a different way since I didn’t stay and it’s not fair. The lady was having a very unpleasant attitude, someone who is at a hotel from desk who doesn’t have the understanding of how to handle a customer, she was rude, unfortunately, and it’s very sad. Business matters should not be influenced by race, look or anything personal. I am very unhappy with this experience and wanted to share that so other customers like I have an expectation when they plan their stay. Another reason is, hoping that someone responsible at that hotel can investigate this and maybe offer additional training to that person or find another option. She said she is the manager, and if this is the case, then there is something seriously wrong. I hope that my opinion can be heard and proactive measures of improvement...

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. The manager Grace is unprofessional, rude, and doesn't care at all for the guests. We checked in, found fleas... was told we'd be moved, came back and was told we wouldn't due to the state of our room, we have 3 kids and there was goldfish crumbs/plus empty drinks on tables due to their not being trash can. We also spent 16+ hours at schitterbahn and had to be up at 7am the next morning, so we were wore out to clean it spotless. After finding more fleas the manager Grace refused to come and see me, I've reported them to the health sanitation department along with being in contact with their corporate office. Having 3 kids, you would think she'd be understanding. However she is far from it. She yelled at the front desk receptionist on the phone when she called her to come speak with me again and refused. Grace should not be in management, our son even mentioned him getting bit and she did not care. She offered a refund but with us checking out that same night, had rooms available but refused to move us. worst experience ever!! The lady who works nights here is amazing, empathetic, sweet... SHE should be the one representing this company, Grace is awful and I now understand why there's more negative reviews then positive with her being who runs this hotel.

Also, to the managers response on this post saying she tried to accomdate us, her solution was to refund us for ONE night but in turn we'd have to check out that same exact night. Not feasible at all when moving us would have been much appreciated and more feasible for us. She did not try to help or provide solutions aside of that. The way a manager can say I made false accusations is sad. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!!! Manager is awful! I've already disputed these charges with my bank. But AVOID THIS HOTEL!!! Have also been informed this hotel and manager is now being investigated after photos I've sent and after speaking...
