Despicable management and customer service by Alex. I do not ask for much. It takes a lot for me to complain about anything. My sister and I both had large pieces of eggshell in our food. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I took out the pieces I saw, and checked every bite before eating just in case, but didn't say a thing. I just didn't get egg in my second plate. My sister completely put off and felt sick and couldn't finish. Then I got my daughter a plate as well. We did not overdo it, didn't not try to stuff too much into one bowl, or use 2 bowls since she is young. But since she is young, she still didn't eat much, and had almost an entire (child size) meal left over. I noticed her meal was not on my ticket, and after i made sure no one else on my party (who had already left) paid for her, i asked the cashier to add her meal to my ticket, since she is not in the free to eat she range. The manager passed by shortly after, and I kindly asked him i might be able to get just a small box to take home some of the food she es not able to eat and I was immediately denied. His explanation was that the first is per person not per plate. I asked him so I'm paying for the pleasure of this "experience" but I'm not allowed the one single plate minimum that is included in that price, and he of course smiled and said yes. I let him know that this lovely experience left both my sister and I with eggshells in our meal, but that I intended to leave it alone since i could get make another, but of course he didn't care about physical contaminants in the food. When I asked him for a card or some physical information on how i could contact someone above him, he told me you can go online and find it and write your complaint. I work in costumer service, i deal with menial complaints all day, but I would never treat our customers with such an uncaring attitude. Make faces all you want and talk sh*t in the back where customers can't see you. I don't agree with the overly and incorrectly used phrase "the customer is always right". If I had eaten a full two plates and wanted a box for my third plate, that's not the way it works. But i sure do know how to take care of customers, especially when they have a reasonable request, small exceptions can be made on a case by car basis. I'm incredibly disappointed that the Loop 1604 location was not able to stay open. I've heard so many complaints about this location but since I've been here several times over the year, I brush it off. Something needs to be done about this manager Alex's attitude and customer service. 10/10 customer service for Jasmine that took care of everything else for us during our visit. Poor girl probably would have helped us if it wouldn't get her in trouble, but I not trying to get employees written up because of their managers. I hope someone above this location...

On June 3, 2025, we went on a family outing (9 total) to HuHot. It's a place we usually frequent and enjoy. Unfortunately today the service was extremely terrible. We had our drink order taken before entering the line for our food. We had 7 kids in tow so it took some time for us all to get everyone situated. When we sat at the table, our drinks were not there. My sister had to flag our server down to bring us our drinks. Not completely terrible but when he approached with the drinks, the order was wrong. He went back to collect the right drinks, forgot to give us straws, and instead of giving us kids cups that we had requested, insisted on putting lids on the cups instead. We asked another individual for kids cups and was rudely informed there are no kids cups but to go cups. We had to request them multiple times before finally receiving them. Mind you, there are 9 people in our party, 7 children, 4 of which are young kids that absolutely needed a to go cup to avoid any spills. Throughout the meal, our plates were collecting on the edge of the table and the waiter was completely unaware as the conversation with another young female coworker was more important than refilling our drinks and collecting the dirty dishes. We went for another round of food and after the grill station, one of the youngest children took a step back from the line to go to the table, slipped on a puddle of water with her plate of food, and fell. There was no wet floor sign anywhere near the wet area! The closest wet floor sign could be spotted near the entrance of the restaurant which is easily 10 feet away. The sign was incorrectly placed and insufficient to warn any patrons of the hazard which resulted in a 6 year old little girl spilling food and falling to the floor. We requested to speak with a manager and after some time was finally able to. This manager did not apologize, listen to or acknowledge us. He repeatedly told us there was a wet floor sign and alluded that a 6 year old needed to be more careful. The wet floor sign that was situated 10 feet away from the spill was supposed to be efficient enough by his standards. Not once did he check to see if she was okay or injured but was defensive and only interested in "correcting" us rather than listening. Today's service was one of the worst. From the negligent and rude waitstaff to the...

Huhot is generally hit or miss depending on the day, time, and who’s working. We went for dinner on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM. When we walked in there was no one at the grill and a couple of people at the food and sauce bars. (To clarify in response to Jorge's comment below: There were grillers at the grill ready to cook for people. There were no customers at the grill when we walked in. Usually the grill is full of customers and this was the first time that we had ever seen it empty. We were happy to see that the grill line was so short). The food bar was stocked well but the sauce bar was really messy and low on some sauces. Maybe they cleaned and stocked the food and were going to do the sauce bar next.

The food was tasty for the most part. I wasn’t impressed with the sausage this time. It looked and tasted more like hotdogs. (In response to Jorge's comment below: I am used to the spicy sausage that is normally on the food bar. Maybe they ran out and used the non-spicy one or made a mistake stocking it. What was on my plate is not what I am used to, so I thought it noteworthy. As for mango being gone for a year, I aware of this and disapprove of the choice to remove it from the menu. Mark me down with on the list of customers who would like it to be added back in the near future.) Also, I think there should be more fruit selections. They only have pineapple. There used to be small orange slices and mango in the past, but no more.

The men’s bathroom hadn’t been cleaned when I used it. The table and chairs were clean at our table. The dining area was pretty smoky from the grill that night, which makes it a little tough to breathe and eyes watering.

Service at the grill and table were both good as usual. Overall, a decent meal with good service. I had to take a picture of the hotdogs (sausage) because I thought that was pretty funny they’d use those instead of the awesome sausage they normally...

HuHot is my favorite mongolian BBQ. What makes HuHot different is the wide selection of sauces and ingredients. Many other Mongolian BBQ places are single trip, HuHot is all you can eat. The sauce bar has many items other Mongolian BBQ restaurants lack, such as sesame oil, garlic broth, cooking sherry, and hot chili oil. These are all on top of the dozen sauces they offer. The cooks here are excellent, they will even take special requests like "crispy noodles" or "add red pepper flakes" having them cooked on the grill rather than added afterwards, or even fry your rice with the food. They will also clean and prep the grill for those with seafood or peanut allergies. Another thing HuHot offers that others don't, is a selection of 3 noodle types, including ramen, & pad thai flat rice noodles. The asian salad included with dinner is a spring salad with crushed ramen noodles on top, a sweet asian vinaigrette, and a few mandarin wedges. Its a salad I've only seen one place come close to replicating. Its like desert in the form of a salad. The restaurant has a full bar, and a desert menu with some tasty items such as fried cheesecake wontons. Something they don't really advertise much is a loyalty club where you can earn points towards free meals, birthday meals and other specials. If you like HuHot make sure you join. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like mongolian BBQ. Because once you come here you will definitely come back.
