Headed to this Starbucks with a couple of relatives and what I had hoped would be a good experience became a terrible one. We ordered 3 simple drinks with no modifications at the drive thru speaker and confirmed it was correct after having it reiterated. Once we made it to the drive thru window the barista had her task of setting up whip cream canisters and hadnât really acknowledged us until the drinks were through. No big deal easily something to blow over but once she got to the window she treated the transaction like it was nothing more than just that. If you have an inability to exhibit any communication then perhaps working directly with customers isnât for you. Once she gave me the first drink. I asked what it was and she didnât even know, all she had was a dumbfounded look to give. Shouldnât you be checking what your handing to your customers especially if they have multiple beverages? She gave me 2 of the 3 drinks and closed the window. She came back to the window a minute or two later and asked what we were waiting on, I then told her we ordered 3 drinks and she had even repeated it so how does someone suddenly forget even when business was dead? Drinks were satisfying however, the service was horrible. Wish there were a nameplate that way itâd be easier to rule out that individual but regardless, their inept manager and that specific barista have some training to go through again or employment changes. It's a brand new building on the corner of 1604 and Shaenfield. It seems like a pretty small place for as busy as it has to be in the mornings. I went there closer to 1 p.m. on a Tuesday and made my order through the mobile app. There wasn't hardly any customers inside, but the wait was fairly long, considering. The 4 or 5 people working there were positively jumping through their butts and customer service suffered some.
When my order was ready, I picked up my drink, but no food items. Suddenly the girl from the drive thru tosses one bag across the counter at me, says my name and is gone! It took me another minute to get someone else's attention and ask about my slice of lemon cake. He went and asked Miss Friendly at the drive thru, and after some back and forth, he went and got it. Here it comes sliding across the counter and before I could thank him, he was gone.
They're obviously working out the kinks since it's a new store, and my food and drinks were perfect. No one was especially rude, but I'm of the generation that wants eye-contact, and a thank you, preferably with a smile, even if it's harried and on the run. I spent $30 on 4 drinks and 3 pastries. My iced coffee did not have the classic added, I know I literally drink this same coffee every morning. The employee at the register (had a watch clipped on her apron) said she would make it again and was nice about it but beforehand I asked the employee closest to where the drinks are placed for pickup and she gave me an attitude ( she was the shortest employee wore a hat and had long hair) and said â Idk I didnât make your drinkâ again with a rude tone when I simply said can I have extra classic syrup and some extra soy. I mean I paid for those ingredients. Ultimately my drink still wasnât correct. Seems like theyâre understaffed and in turn it diminishes the quality customers expect with these prices. I usually go to the Vance Jackson location and the employees there NEVER disappoint even when theyâre busy and understaffed theyâre always pleasant.
