Lubys was ALWAYS my all time favorite but since the whole pandemic I have really been avoiding public places and haven't been inside a store or restaurant until literally this past week. I went to Lubys after hearing they would be closing down. I assume it would be packed since I'm sure I wasn't the only one trying to eat there before the closure. Well Lubys was not at all prepared to handle the crowd. I'm not sure they were prepared prior to the crowd either. They had signs posted about wearing masks but no "6ft" floor markers, no one directing patrons(traffic) and hardly and hand sanitizer. I attempted to stand in line but was very uncomfortable because NO ONE was practicing social distancing, and instead of helping, this extremely rude employee came in yelling for everyone at the end of the line to wait outside. It was very unorganized and we ended up losing our place in line during the shuffle 😡, after waiting in all the mess. We gave up and went back yo our vehicle and decided to order to go. After 20 mins and $65 dollars we headed home with out food. Once home the disappointment continued. Our food was cold, SUPER bland (even for Lubys), sides and gravy were missing from 2 plates, the roles were soggy, I ordered a chicken fried steak and got, what looked like, 1 steak finger. Needless to say it was not at all what I expected of Lubys.I feel cheated outta $65. I tried calling but I was put on hold and was already so frustrated that I hung up. I just won't go back again, plus with food and service like that it's no wonder they are closing up shop. They wouldn't have made it much...
Read moreI was conflicted with this rating and here's why? My brother and I visited for dinner. All good until the order line and we are confronted by a young lady with lots of attitude. She messed up the side dish for the man ahead of me and she put his vegetable on my entree. When the man told him she had it wrong she grabbed his side and heavily tossed it onto my plate. So when I explained that was my entry and I wanted it changed, she made an unpleasant facial expression. So I said, if it's not to much trouble? She again gave me the look and walked off to exchange. My brother told her you have an attitude and I am going to talk to your manager. She shrugged and rolled her eyes like saying, who gives a darn?? So sure enough we talked to the manager Tony Sanchez who was the most pleasant man who apologized to us and try to make things right. He told us he talked to the young lady "Trinity" and had a come to Jesus talk. He removed her from the serving line. So our bad experience turned positive because of a very professional manager. We didn't need any compensation, our payment was a very attentive manager and I hope the young lady learns a lesson on customer service. So, my rating was in between but should be 5 stars for the Manager for handling the situation to our...
Read moreI asked Main entry server, if they have chicken mushroom, and he replied," no we do not , in a sarcastic tone" and no reason given why it's not available. I asked cashier who was in charge, and she pointed out a black male with button up shirt. I asked him ,is there a reason, why they are not selling the chicken and mushroom that I always purchase when I come. He stated we have too many options right now. Really! That was a sorry reason when I have come here plenty of times and order that plate Everytime I eat here. I asked the waitress the same question after I had to select another entry , so I'm aware for next time , if I have to call in advance or if they plan to take this off the menu and I will eat somewhere else instead. I was told they didn't have enough stuff to make the entry. I eat here every monthly 2-4 times , and throughout the year with my wife, family and friends. I need more transparency, so I know if I need to go elsewhere if they are not going to sell my entry that I come for. I don't like anything else they sell here but the chicken and mushroom with...
