Whew... where do I start? Tiny seating area with dirty tables in a ramshackle of a building.
Now, I love a good hole in the wall, but honey, this ain't it. I had to ask to clean a table, so don't expect them to be clean. In fact, this place looks mostly suited for takeout. Window ordering only with very few options.
At first, I noticed the menu looked different than online. Then, I noticed the torn cardboard sign at the bottom "prices are without meat, meat can be added for additional cost," and a cost range was scribbled out.
My friend and I almost left 4 times. We should have. I told them we were sharing a pad thai (added cost chicken) and sharing a panang curry (added cost chicken).
We sit down and notice the bathroom is out of order. Great.
The food is ready and comes in to go Styrofoam containers. There is no extra container or plate to divvy out what we are sharing. I tear up the Styrofoam container so we can split the food.
The pad thai wasn't horrible, but the sauce is on the sweet side, and I prefer a balance. 1 dry lime wedge came with it. No veg to speak of anywhere in the dish.
The red curry was in a large container with a small container of white rice. Not one vegetable was found in this container. It was a lose, watery, horrible tasting liquid that nothing was saving. We threw it away.
Lastly, the "spice," or lack of. I asked for 3 stars, and all they did was add red pepper flakes that add zero flavor and just burn your gut later.
Oh! Remember that bathroom out of order? We watched the cook come from that door to exit the front door for a cigarette. Yummy
I can not recommend this place to anyone except the health inspector...
Read moreLet me start off by saying this can easily become the best in the city as far as Thai food goes. The atmosphere was not only pleasant, minimalist, but as a San Antonio native—it was authentic to our experiences in local taquerias and fruterías. We felt at home, the family who owns this place is so sweet, and treated us not just as guest, but as community.
The Pad Thai was all bada$$. Noodles cooked to perfection, not overly sauced with a sauce from a bottle. Rather perfectly sauced with bright yet classic flavors.
The Panang Curry was a bowl of flavor, warmth and comfort. Panang is my all time favorite curry, and this was just so flavorful.
We had tofu in all our dishes tonight and the tofu was PERFECTLY COOKED, which is so rare to find. The tofu not only had an amazing texture but took on the flavors of the sauces sooooo well.
Forgot to take pictures, presentation was good and will honestly only get better with time.
If you plan on going in, meet them with patience and gratitude. Their offerings are bada$$, they are still in soft opening mode and there were customers in there that were very impatient, rude and demanding as if food service isn’t already such a hard business.
Absolutely delicious, very reasonably priced, comforting environment,...

5 piece wings 1 flavor for 7.99 but was charged 8.99 10 piece wings 2 flavor for 15.99 but was charged 17.99
When I questioned the price, the lady first mentioned it was because I got flavors. But that didn't make sense because depending on the amount of wings, you get 1 or 2 flavors of your choice. She then changed her excuse that the price already included taxes, but on the bottom of the receipt I showed her the subtotal of all the food items and a 5.69 tax charge. She then went on to tell me the system was set up that way. 🤦🏽♂️
I wasn't trippin over $3 bucks so I just said thanks and walked out. My solution to the problem is that I just won't go back.
Also beware, there is also a payment fee. Mine was $2.24. I'm guessing that is because I used a debit/credit card. Pay cash if you don't want added fees to your bill.
The food was delicious but I can go other places without worrying about being charged more and having to pay additional fees.
Wishing them the...
