I love P. Terry's, but this location is horrible. The burgers taste undercooked, the condiments taste expired, and the lemonade has no flavor.
As seen by my original review that I posted in 2021, I was so excited to see a P. Terry's opened in the San Antonio area. This location was literally the first one opened in the San Antonio area. But ... compared to like all other locations I've been to (San Antonio, San Marcos, Kyle, Austin), this location has the worst food quality.
If you go to this P. Terry's location and this is the very first P. Terry's you have ever been to, don't judge the chain by the quality of the food here. The food is better at literally any other location.
(Old review from 2021, 5 stars):
Finally, a P. Terry's in San Antonio. One of the best fast food burgers I've had in a long time, and I've had a lot of burgers.
This is a chain based out of Austin that just a few years ago started opening locations outside of the Austin metroplex. Honestly, I was counting down the days until this location opened; after discovering the one in San Marcos, I've been waiting for the San Antonio location to open for ... over a year. With all the fast food burger competition in San Antonio from other chains (two big names based out of San Antonio, and another based out of a different state), I did not expected a P. Terry's to be opened here, but here it is.
I'm sorry insert famous fast food burger competitors in San Antonio here, but this chain has the best fast food burger I've found in San Antonio/Austin area. Their menu is simple: burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, fries, cookies, banana bread, fresh lemonade, soft drinks, and a breakfast egg sandwich during breakfast hours. Their beef patties are cooked and flavored right with just the right combination of toppings (don't forget to ask for pickles and/or onions), they serve the only ground chicken sandwich I've found in a fast food chain and it is really good (all others are either processed chicken or neither ground nor processed), and has one of the tastiest veggie burgers I've ever found in a fast food chain.
Also, this location just opened about a week ago, and to my surprise, the employees and the location seem to have their act together pretty well. I ordered through drive-thru; their drive-thru has two lanes, and there was a long line and a long wait in drive-thru. There was a bit of confusion near the end of the line regarding which order was mine (as in they asked me if I was a different customer than I was, but I corrected them), but I ended up with the correct order.
This place is worth trying at least once ... and then wanting to go again and again since...
Read moreSo I used the restaurant app to place an order for DELIVERY thinking ok, it is MONDAY and the work day is some what hectic so delivery will be quick & easy. Placed the order online and delivery time showed 12:15 PM. I ordered 2 cheeseburgers one with Special Sauce, Lettuce & tomato, the other with Special Sauce, Mayo, Ketchup, Lettuce & Pickles. 2 orders of Crispy fries, 2 strawberry milkshakes. Confirmed all delivery information/order and thought YAY, lunch will be here soon. When 12:10 rolled around and I checked online for order status all is showed was order received so I called the restaurant and confirmed order for delivery. Female employee advised, yes ma'am your order was just made a couple of mins ago and we are waiting for a driver to and pick it up. I asked, "you do not have a delivery driver"? No ma'am, we use a third party like DoorDash, UberEats, etc and we have to wait for someone to come by * confirm the order for pick up. I asked then why do you have a delivery option if you do not actual deliver? I am not sure ma'am was the answer I received. I then decided to drive over to pick up the order since I did not want to eat cold food. I called on the way over (drive was like 6 mins per MAPS) and advised since food was already sitting, can you please put in FRESH CRISPY Fries and FRESH Shakes. Female employee advised yes, that was not a problem at all. When I picked up my order and returned to work, I discovered the FRIES were NOT crispy, fresh or HOT. More like COLD, SOGGY and flavorless. The burgers were not made correctly and also cold and SOGGY. The Lettuce on both was Wilted and SOGGY. Tomato was missing off the one burger and mayo was added to both. The shakes were melted. This was a first time experience w/this establishment but sadly will be my last. If I wanted to pick up the food, I would have advised order was for PICK UP upon ordering. Then to only have cold, soggy food and a melted shake just made the experience even less desirable for return visit. I was told this location in SAN ANTONIO off Wurzbach has not been open that long. If business continues at this rate, they won't last long at all. The only reason I gave them one star was to...

I have been a loyal customer at this P. Terry’s and have spent a lot of money here over time, but the level of customer service at this location is consistently disappointing. What should be a simple and friendly dining experience is often overshadowed by unnecessary conflict and a clear disregard for customer satisfaction.
The ongoing issue is over something as small as condiments. Every time I ask for ketchup or sauce, I’m met with resistance. Instead of providing them with my order, I’m told ketchup can only be served in tiny portion cups, and sauces can only be sold with bites. This feels less like customer service and more like an employee creating rules of his own.
Luis, who I confirmed was the manager on duty, has repeatedly been the source of these negative experiences. Rather than listening to concerns, he argues and takes a dismissive attitude. On my most recent visit, when I tried to explain my frustration, he told me to “go ahead and call the 1-800 number” because he didn’t care. Hearing that from someone representing the company—especially from the manager on duty—was shocking. I told him that it was a shame he was the one in charge, because no guest should be treated that way.
The food itself is good, and that’s the only reason I’ve continued to return, but customer service is just as important as food quality. When a manager openly tells a customer they don’t care and encourages them to escalate their complaint instead of resolving it, it reflects poorly on the entire brand.
Because of these repeated experiences, I can only give this location two stars. I sincerely hope corporate and upper management take a hard look at how this store is being run, because right now it does not represent the values or the reputation P. Terry’s...
