Solid, but not mind-blowing. The location and atmosphere is perfect, with the high ceiling and the big windows on the European styled Plaza, nestled at the foot of the Eilan hotel on heights above I-10. Very well made cocktails, my Gran Torino had bitters that enhanced the taste of the gin and just sweet enough. The carpacio was perfect, the beef was sliced just right to have the texture of a cold cut without the salt. The olives were a revelation, warmed with olive oil and spices I could not fully figure out. My short rib sugo had perfect home-made pasta texture and the ragu had a good taste of the meat with fresh tomato still present, though I missed the chunks of ribs I normally expect. There were plenty of shreds but no chunks. My wife crusted trout was cooked perfectly, and the moderation in salt somehow made it better. My daughters' lasagna were judged "nicely home-made tasting", Alfredo was creamy with good texture but did not live up to the "spicy" promise. The dessert coffee affogato was superb, the zeppolli was light, with just the right level of sweetness but not as airy as I remembered from last year. Common themes: great home-made pasta texture and doneness, great sauces, tasty but very restrained in the salt department, in a good way, but ultimately lacking the final oomph I remember from my first visit.

We were in the neighborhood and I found this place through a Google Maps search. Saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. Piatti is located in an upscale area. I had to look for a parking spot and only realized after parking that they had free valet service. The food was good. We ordered Spicy Pepperoni Flatbread, Italian Wedding Soup, Lemon Ricotta Ravioli, Creamy Polenta, Chicken Alfredo Lumache, and Chicken Puttanesca. We also got Pasta w/ Alfredo sauce and Chicken from the kids menu. Overall, it tasted great. I have a gripe with the pasta though. Many of them were lumpy, chewy, and clearly not cooked through to the center. When we asked about it, the waiter said that this has been brought up in the past and the chef has said that it's because they make it in-house and it is the "authentic" way. I get the authentic part but c'mon... isn't a reason for pasta to be uncooked in the center. I'm no chef, not even by a mile. I can sense BS from a mile away though. Our waiter Donovan was great. Took care of us well and tended to us often.

The experience was great from start to finish! We were a party of 3 and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the manager, Jacob. He was so nice when getting our table ready, and he made us feel at home right away. We were promptly seated and our server, Michael brought us water right away and went over the menu with us. He was so helpful in explaining the menu and their specials. Everything was done perfectly this visit. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was great, and the cocktails were to die for! I had the sweet potato trout that our server recommended and it was heavenly. The manager also recommended a cocktail that he had created, and it was phenomenal. I forget the name but it's Italian, something Luna. For our group, this is our third time back in the last year and it's gotten better every single time. You can really tell the staff cares, and the whole atmosphere is so friendly and inviting. Our table was assisted by 3 servers / runners, the busser, and the manager! We will definitely be back soon!

DO NOT — I REPEAT — DO NOT BOOK A PRIVATE EVENT AT PIATTIS. THIS RESTAURANT SCAMMED US.

I reached out OVER A MONTH IN ADVANCE to book a PRIVATE DINNER at Piattis in their private room. I was assigned to work with KIMBERLY WEBB, their so-called event coordinator. Let me be clear — KIMBERLY WEBB IS COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT and has NO BUSINESS coordinating anything, let alone events for paying customers.

For OVER A MONTH, we went back and forth planning this event. She barely responded to emails or texts, made everything unnecessarily difficult, and somehow dragged out what should’ve been a simple dinner reservation into a mess of confusion. She sent me a PRIVATE DINING MENU — clearly labeled “FONTANA ROOM” — and I selected a full custom menu that was DOUBLE THE PRICE of their normal menu. DOUBLE. Why? Because it was supposed to be a PRIVATE EVENT.

A few days before the dinner, I texted KIMBERLY WEBB to confirm everything and she had the AUDACITY to respond, “WHO IS THIS?” Are you joking? After weeks of planning, she acted like we had never spoken.

Day of the event — I arrive, tell the hostess we have a private dinner booked. She looks at me confused. Turns out WE WERE NEVER BOOKED FOR THE PRIVATE ROOM. There was ANOTHER party already seated there. The manager tries calling KIMBERLY WEBB — SHOCKER — she doesn’t answer. She was UNREACHABLE on the day of the event.

And guess what? The A/C WASN’T WORKING either, even though KIMBERLY WEBB told me directly that it was. It was miserable and hot inside. Instead of a private room, we were sat in the MAIN DINING AREA — just like any walk-in customer. No privacy. No special setup. NOTHING.

So what did I plan and pay DOUBLE for? Why did I spend hours customizing a menu if we were going to be seated like regular guests?

Let’s talk about the $250 extra hour charge she quoted me — WERE WE GOING TO BE CHARGED THAT FOR SITTING IN THE MAIN DINING ROOM TOO? This entire process was MISLEADING, UNPROFESSIONAL, and FLAT-OUT DECEPTIVE.

KIMBERLY WEBB CLEARLY DOUBLE-BOOKED THE ROOM and instead of owning her mistake, she GHOSTED us. Her lack of communication, accountability, and basic competence RUINED what was supposed to be a special occasion.

PIATTIS AND KIMBERLY WEBB SCAMMED US. We were lied to. We were overcharged. We were humiliated in front of our guests....

We stopped in to get my Son-in-Law dinner to celebrate his birthday and for the rest of us. We walked in and the hostess got us a waiter and we placed our order. They were fairly busy and by far the busiest restaurant in the court. There really wasn't any place to wait for our order inside so myself, my wife, and my son sat at an outside table right in front of the door. We waited for an hour with the manager popping out about 40 minutes into our wait to let us know that they were still working on our order. After seeing that several tables that sat down after us had already received their food, I went into check on our food. I found the man that took our order and he told us that the kitchen was still working on it. I went ahead and paid for our food when I was told that the kitchen had lost our order and they were remaking it. My wife and son walked around in at this point and I informed them that it still wasn't ready. They both wanted to leave but I had a little trouble getting anyone to talk to us. We finally got the waiter's attention and informed him we wanted our money back. It took another 15 minutes for the manager to come over and return the cash I had paid. He did apologize and returned my money. He also told me that they had completed our order and he was going to comp us the meal for our trouble. I hadn't expected him to do that. It did go along way to smoothing the trouble over but there was still food missing from the order. I am not complaining at all because we had enough food to fill in the missing orders. I do have this criticism to make. The food looked and smelled better than it tasted. I don't plan on another visit the next time...

Where to begin. If I could give 0 stars I would. Our server brought us our appetizer and never came to check on us again. We ordered glasses of wine and it took 20 minutes to be brought to our table. We had a 7pm reservation. We did not get our food until after 8:30 and only because I brought it to a manager’s attention. Other servers brought the food to our table. Our server never came to check if we needed anything once our entrees were served. I had to get up from the table to ask for silverware, to put in a bread order, to ask for Parmesan and crushed peppers, etc. It was ridiculous. I spoke to both managers throughout our meal, which I had to get up from my table and approach them to do. I was told they would speak to our server. Even with managers knowing that we were having issues with our server they never came to follow up to make sure everything was ok. I didn’t really even get an apology. For reference, we were seated right next to the hostess and where you check in so the managers were right there. They could’ve easily monitored service after our first complaint. When our checks were brought to our table I told them I was not going to pay full price for mediocre service. They gave a 20% discount, which while I appreciate, was an insult given how many issues we had. I had highly recommended Piatti as a place my girlfriends and I could enjoy. It was incredibly embarrassing to have them pay for a pricier meal only to have awful service. We will not be returning. Food was...
