I first discovered Thirty Grind in August 2024, and at the time, it was an exceptional experience. The coffee was consistently delicious, and the owner was frequently present, ensuring high quality. The menu concepts remain creative and appealing, and the atmosphere is quite good—though seating is limited, particularly during peak hours. While it's a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee, it may not be the best study environment due to the lack of desk space.
One of the standout aspects of this shop is its commitment to less sweet coffee, making it an ideal spot for those who prefer balanced flavors over overly sugary drinks. However, in recent months, I’ve noticed a decline in quality. There seems to be inconsistency in drink preparation depending on the barista.
One particular barista, who has short black hair, consistently prepares coffee below the standard I initially experienced. The drinks tend to have noticeably less syrup, often resulting in little to no discernible flavor. Additionally, on multiple occasions, the cold foam has not been properly made, lacking the usual sweetness and texture. On the other hand, there is another barista—a taller individual with long black hair, sometimes styled in double braids—who consistently makes excellent coffee.
I still believe this is a very good coffee shop, and I hope the quality becomes more consistent across all staff members. A bit more attention to training and quality control could help maintain the strong reputation this shop...
Read moreNo blended drinks here (frapaccino)! Be aware of that first. A very small, tiny, little shop with well chosen music, played at a nice volume (could be a tad lower) and good lighting. It's drawback is the limited walking space, and it was pretty full when I visited around brunch. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The Banana Foster Shaken Espresso I got was good, the hint of banana and brown sugar rum flavor gives it an intriguing twist. But it was mostly ice 🧊, with four sips getting the glass half full. Which was definitely not enough to last me the 20min wait for the Morning Club I ordered, so I was forced to simply stop drinking and wait around. When asking the staff, they gave me a friendly "reminder" that all food takes 15-20m when ordered. Very informative.
The Morning Club was pretty good, flavorful and well prepared. Adding a little hot sauce after you get it does wonders.
Needless to say, with how little liquid was actually in the drink I got, I had to go elsewhere after for a more low priced drink that didn't leave me thirsty. Maybe the correct way to enjoy it was by eating the ice 🧊. It might be a better spot to go with a friend, just know you will leave thirsty unless you buy two to three drinks or bring a...
Read moreMy new go-to coffee place! I couldn’t find a coffee that could replace my Starbucks addiction until now. The flan iced coffee and breakfast club is to die for! Their Instagram shows so many photos of their drinks (so creative and TASTY) to see what they look like. Plus! Pictures is what I look for because I get scared I may not like something, and the photos allowed me to want to try many different items on their menu rather then just stick to the same thing over and over. Their staff is SO nice and recommends great suggestions on what to try. The sandwiches does take a little bit of time to get cooked but so worth the wait. They do use Joes App for online ordering so I’ll be using that in the near future if I need to grab and go. Lastly, they have expanded their hours and’s days, now I have more opportunity to stop in more around work schedule to grab my cravings of good coffee and food.
Inside seating area is a great vibe …so authentic, chill, and peaceful! Recommend to...
