The Social at Eilan — Restaurant in San Antonio

Breakfast was phenomenal. My husband and I were so happy we decided to have dinner there as well. 10/10 for breakfast.

For dinner I ordered the bourbon brown sugar glazed salmon and my husband ordered a steak. There was no hint of bourbon, brown sugar, no glaze... it was just overcooked and dry. The best part of the dish was the rice which is disappointing after the wonderful breakfast we had. My husband's steak was over cooked and there were literal burnt carrots on top of mashed potatoes. I asked the waiter if the carrots normally come out burnt and he just laughed and said they got a little charred on the way out. No attempt to fix it. It should have never been served in the first place. The portions were good.

UPDATE* We returned the next morning because the breakfast is outstanding of course. We tried the breakfast tacos. Chorizo and potato, chorizo and egg, brisket and egg, as well as bacon and egg. All delicious and filling so much so that we couldn't finish! The manager also found us and sincerely apologized for our previous dinner experience and took care of our breakfast and ensuring our waitress was doing everything she can to make sure our breakfast experience was wonderful which it was. She gave us so many suggestions for the rest of our vacation here in San Antonio. Will return of course💕

returned* for our 3rd breakfast... phenomenal of course! I will note that there is no hostess at the front and takes awhile to get noticed. Servers and bartender see you but you'll still wait awhile. When we returned i got the avocado toast! 10/10!

Side note as well sometimes the items change. The first time my husband ordered the steak and eggs, they didn't have refried beans. The second time they didn't have crispy potatoes so they served fries... also on a board instead of plate. Just an...

This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. We sat at the front of the restaurant for over 10 minutes. Once we got sat I thought everything seemed to be going well, it was taco Tuesday so we three of us went with that. The server said they had Mac and cheese for my 6 year old… what he didn’t reveal it was jalapeño Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese came 30 minutes after getting there. We ordered two margaritas and they had still yet to come. After an hour and a half we got our tacos but still no margaritas. We all took a bite and they were so cold. At this point I was fed up we left the restaurant and they didn’t even seem to care. The only excuse we received was the printer wasn’t working. There was only maybe 10 people in the place, so I have no idea how you could forget a...

This turns out to be one of our favorite spots!!! We were there a couple of nights ago. Very nice atmosphere as always. Servers were attentive to our needs. The food was EXCELLENT. I had the social burger and fries. The burger was cooked to perfection. It made your mouth water when it hit the table. I could have had a few more but I was stuffed!
