I went there to apply as a pt cashier during 2-4 pm. When I went inside, the place was pretty much dead of foot traffic. I spoke with an Elsa who earlier that morning gave me an application and a myers/mykers test of 90/91 questions. Nevertheless, I heard of no such test, so when I went home and left, I'd completed it and returned during the interview hours. So anywho, that afternoon Elsa informed the manager I was there and I sat in the Eastwing of their business. Elsa came out but did not say the manager would be with you shortly. Instead, they had me waiting 5 mins pass by then 10 and then 20. I smiled at one female employee, but she had a look out of this world who did not smile back and headed towards the kitchen. Then, the manager who still did not greet me when he came out just made eye contact and kept on walking, and once again, I waited and waited and waited. I got tired of waiting, so I asked a female employee who was not wearing a purple shirt who would be interviewing me? She thought I was being interviewed for a manager role, and I said noooooo only pt cashier. She was the only one who showed hospitality to go and see and to get an answer for me. Finally after 5 to 8 mins the manager shows up and gets straight into the interview no handshake no name and asking me questions like what is hospitality to me, and some other questions look at the myers test and mark on it but did not care to explain nothing about the test. Ask me if I will pass a drug test I laugh cause I don't do drugs and believe me I have a job that I've been working at for 6 months already, got a pay raise in less then 5 mths of working as a retail Sales Specialist did it look like I was on drugs? Nope but maybe it was my availability or maybe they did not want a cashier that did not fit the description of being white or hispanic but its alright because I did not get the manager name until the very end when I had ask him for his name and he said Chris with a late handshake and that was it. I had an odd feeling applying here when, for one, the place was pretty dead, and no hospitality was shown, but yet they will question you about what it is, and they don't show it at all. I would rather work at Bill Miller's than to ever step my foot in here. My 1st visit to use the RR was in round rock tx and their cashiers all caucasian females showed 100% hospitality towards me and my son now that's customer service I would most definitely step foot in that store again quicker then a snicker then this place. I went on there website and also put in a complaint but nobody every got back to me with an answer it's ok though cause where I work at we always recognize military that comes thru our doors and I do have family members that's active, retired and deceased who fought...
Read moreStaff was extremely friendly, but the food was not good. We had a big party, so we got 5 lbs of brisket (asked for moist/point end and got 80% flat meat), 3 lbs of spare ribs, 4 sausage links and some turkey.
Brisket was DRY. I mean, I understand that they gave us meat from the flat/lean end, but there was no marbling whatsoever. Decent seasoning and good smoke ring, though. I'm just an average home BBQ cook and I would have out my brisket up against this with my life savings on the line.
The pork ribs weren't cooked enough. Needed another hour or so because they were really tough. I don't like the meat "falling off the bone," but these bones were impossible to get a clean bite off of.
Turkey was ok. Nothing wrong with it, but not a ton of flavor either.
Sausage was pretty good. Everyone seemed to like it. Not my favorite sausage ever, but I enjoyed it.
The sides - potato salad, cole slaw, beans, and cream corn - were all good and definitely the highlight of the meal.
I bought a bottle of their BBQ sauce, which was fortunate, because they didn't give us any bbq sauce on the side. I was planning on taking the unopened bottle of sauce back to Ohio with us, but we ended up having to use it for the meal instead. They also didn't give us a loaf of white bread, which I thought would be a given with a $250+ order. Also, no pickles, onions or jalapenos were given.
Overall, just disappointed. We've loved Rudy's in the past (my wife grew up eating it in San Antonio), but this was a HUGE letdown given how much we were looking...
Read moreWould give it a zero if I could. We were visiting Seaworld from out of town while staying at Hilton one block away, decided to eat at Rudy's with my mom and two small children. Let me tell you something, come here if you want attitude and overpriced flavorless brisket. I also ordered their chopped brisket for my kids it was so greasy it made the bread fall apart. To make matters worse, what really stood out the most to us was the level of poor customer service. You may experience discrimination at this place. I witnessed it. It was pathetic. People sue for such a treatment and win. We will never return. However, I will voice my concerns for the public to view. The manager, Leanne was rude and interjected herself with a condescending response when my mom was asking a simple question about the menu. Manager just gave us blank stares and glared at us while her staff, Alice who was also rude was taking in our order. Alice kept sighing and looked annoyed when we added one more item for our kids to our order. Their horrible attitude showed in both the service and the food. Never seen of such poor customer service at a BBQ restaurant, never ever experienced anything like this at Saltlick or Moe's BBQ which I normally visit with my children. I recommend avoiding this Rudy's location. So save your money and eat somewhere else. Terrible to say the...
