San Antonio Fire Department Station #40 — Local services in San Antonio

#40 to my rescue. They responded quickly to my 911 call. At least 5 EMS personnel were here to attend to my needs. Being treated with Steroids for a bum left knee, my good knee did not support the other stiff & deadweighted leg and give me balance. Toppled 4 times last week with difficulty getting up from floor. Treated myself for superficial wounds. Consulted with and set up appointment with PCC. Expected a wheel chair from Amazon. It got lost in shipment & did not arrive on Friday. When I fell the 5th time, hesitated calling EMS with Labor Day approaching but needed help getting up. The EMS team arrived promptly, gathered incident information, took my vitals, assured I had a plan, treated wounds, wiped blood from walls. and lifted me into bed. Impressed with the team. One of my kids made macaroni in the microwave and forgot to put water in it. Toxic smoke filled the house. Our security system notified the fire department and they were there before I could call and report it as a false alarm. My dog slipped and got his foot wedged between 2 pieces of wood on a makeshift deck and the firemen were able to pry the wood off and free his foot, which was broken, and helped carry him (55lb) into my car to take him to the vet.
