Chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend and kids. Started out great cute little place. Right off the bat we were told they didnt have two of the items we were anticipating ordering. We moved on ordered our drinks (one wine and one beer) and appetizers. Were asked if we wanted to go ahead and order salads. I ordered Caesar salad and since my kids acted interested in it was asked if I wanted to order a large in which I agreed to do. My bf ordered the caprese salad. The kids drinks came, the appetizers came, eventually my wine came and finally his salad. Never got our caesar salad or his beer. By this point we were all very annoyed with a couple flies that kept coming around the table. During ordering we were told about desserts that would be available if we wanted to order after we had our dinner. We were very irritated considering he never got his beer and we saw the bartender sitting there talking and looking at herself in the reflection of screens the whole time and talking to our server. I will also add that when we first got there, there was only one other table with only two people so it was not due to being too busy. Despite the disappointments we decided to order dessert about 15 minutes after ordering the bartender came (while our server stood behond the counter) to let us know that they did not have one of the desserts that we ordered two of. At that point I said we did not want any desserts and to make sure the beer and salad we did not receive were removed. There was no apology there was nothing else said and we received our check shortly after. On top of all of this my daughter who is a teen forgot to lock the door on the restroom when she went and the bartender walked in on her, my daughter's fault for not locking it however my son was standing outside waiting for his sister he only 7 and came back to the table very upset saying how rude people are. When I asked him what happened he explained that after walking in on my daughter she came out complaining saying (damn, people can't even lock the door), it happens and my daughter was definitely the one more embarrassed. The staff was much more interested in interacting with whatever employee was sitting at the counter on the tablet. I watched the bartender go back and tell him about the incident while sitting there laughing. Place has potential just...
Read moreVisited during New Years wknd. We were excited to visit because of the reviews we read. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit sour. First let me say the food was indeed delicious. I had the meat lasagna, my wife had the eggplant parmigiana, we shared a ceasar salad, and our son had a medium pep pizza. Every dish was delicious and tasted the most homemade of anything we’ve had lately from a restaurant. However, the bad experience was due to having waited for nearly an hour for my wife’s dish. My son and I received our dishes within 15 minutes of ordering, so after eating about half my dish, waited till my wife received hers. This meant I had to eat the rest of my lasagna cold. The place was already cold because it didn’t seem like any heating was being used, so finishing my dish was not very enjoyable. We were given a small discount and a free desert for the inconvenience of waiting. We did appreciate the effort to set our bad experience right. Because of the great food, we’ll definitely give this place another opportunity. If you’re looking for great homemade tasting Italian, this is definitely a place to try out 🙂 In closing, the decor is rustic ,and the byob policy is a plus. If our next visit doesn’t include such a long wait for our food, then I’ll definitely update my rating.
Adding this as a very much overdue update. No sooner had I posted my review, and the manager was at our table apologizing himself, for our long wait. He offered us desert on the house and comped our meal. Very generous and always a big plus when a business actually is vested enough in their business that they take the time to read, respond, and in our case, immediately set out to rectify a bad experience. We’ve been back a couple of times, for dine in, as well as pick up. No lengthy wait, and food was...
Read moreMy family and I walked in and waited about 2 minutes to be acknowledged. Then, when we were finally greeted, we were asked to wait for another 5 to 7 minutes. We did arrive 10 minutes after the restaurant opened, and they were not prepared yet. As that is not very welcoming. We overheard the manager or owner telling an employee to go across the street to buy bags of ice. Definitely not prepared. This friendly lady finally walked over to us to show us to our seat and the manager/owner said no so we turned around to sit back down and she said no we are ready so then we turned around and followed her again. It was a little roller coaster of unpreparedness, and yes, we could've walked out, but I was trying to go riding around looking for a place to eat since it was my birthday and I had planned on this since they reopened. We finally sat down. We were served our drinks on the warm side. But I knew why. Understandable. Upon our visit, my family and I observed a lot of errors with delivery and service. We critique a lot of eateries since we eat out every day. The food portions were an okay size for the price. Some came out warm instead of hot. They also didn't serve us at the same time. There had to be a few minutes in between. Having to wait for the rest of the family to get their food was not good. We had to ask for our drink refills rather than the server acknowledging we needed them. Then we had to ask for our "bread." At the end of our dinner, the bill for a family of 4 was a little over $100. The food was okay, but the service wasn't worth it. 😕 So we will take this one off our...
