This park is great! There is construction going on, so you have to take the back way down Plaza Rd to get there and walk across the street, but it's worth the walk. It's well laid out with several different areas for kids of all ages to play. There is seating for parents and lots of little shops. The International Center for Mexican Culture is right next to it, as well as Hemisfair Park. They have splash pads and a wading pool. There is also park police and I saw an ambulance come out to help a lady who was having heat stroke. It was pretty awesome. They made it there in a timely manner and got her taken care of in a huge place like that. The grounds are clean. It is dog friendly. My friends daughter was petting every dog she saw. They do need to be on a leash. I didn't see this huge homeless population people refer to. Lots of historical markers to stop and learn about as you walk through. There are lots of paved paths for walking, biking, or electric scooters. I didn't go down to the lower level, but it is flanked by the quieter part of the Riverwalk I read about, and I will make sure to check that out next time. Visit San Antonio Palateria while visiting. They are totally worth it. I had the Strawberry Limeade, and it was so refreshing. They melt super quick in the heat, so work fast! Dough was delicious! The pizza was out super fast. I mean, like lightning. Great crust, nice place. I'll certainly be back to this place. Oh, and the restrooms were clean! That alone was enough to get...
Read moreBest park for all children & grandparents. The whole park is well shaded & has plenty of places to sit close by & keep a watchful eye on your little ones. There is something for everyone, from small 1yr old to teens & adults. The restrooms were surprisingly very clean & well stocked. The park itself was clean & the splash pads/wading areas were plenty. The sand pit was great, giant checkerboard, playgrounds for your tiny toddlers, lots of great places for picture taking, and a bigger playground for older kids, too. Plenty of places nearby to eat or get a cool beverage & even ice cream. There were bicycle officers riding by frequently & park staff present the whole time we were there. There was some construction going on near the tower, so we did not get a chance to go to that area. We had a great time with our grandchildren & met some other grandparents & families that were extremely friendly & helpful. I will definitely...
Read moreThis is an amazing, well thought out space. I love that there is lots of seating for parents/caregivers near the various play areas. Chairs and benches with most in the shade. The division between spaces is open enough I could easily see my kids in multiple areas at the same time. The changing rooms are genius. The sand washer was so convenient. Water feature in sand area wasn't working which was a bit of a bummer. But well pump was. We never even got to try cornhole and foosball bc had so much fun in other areas. Sand, climbing, swings, water play and giant chess. Oh! Love how the swings are perfect adult pushing height! We were here nearly 3 hrs and only left to find lunch! Parking was very affordable. Only $5 for 2 hrs 37 mins. Would...
