Taqueria Mexico — Restaurant in San Antonio

We were taken to our table.... waitress took our drink order brought chips and salsa pretty good . And then our drinks we ordered tortilla soup and a asada torta n asked for extra veggies on my tortilla soup.... approximately 10 minutes later I get tortilla soup ahhhhh no rice and definitely no veggies and my friend waited for his torta . Needless to say but my soup was barely warm so I waved waitress and told her and I said where are my extra veggies and she tells me it doesn't come with veggies I said bring me a menu please and she says you want them to warm your soup I said yesss n my Xtra veggies so she takes a while n finally brought the torta I guess it was okay cause my friend started eating it or he was really hungry...then she brings me the menu and I showed her where it said tortilla soup comes with veggies and she says so you want veggies darn it I was getting upset I don't know what part of extra veggies she didn't understand besides we were paying extra 99 cents for them.....so she goes to the kitchen I thought to get me my hot soup with extra veggies. Nope she sends another waiter and he's holding a MENU Mam so you want extra veggies???? I said yesss Please . Then the ignorant question do you want them inside the soup or on the side. NOW if I would have known the little veggies I was getting I would have said on the side to count them. But I said inside.... finally my friend is almost finished and I barely get my soup. NOT AT ALL SATISFIED but my friend didn't like me sending my soup back n all so tells me please just eat it. So I start digging in . Well I think it had a teaspoon of Mozzarella cheese STINGY WITH VEGGIES STINGY WITH CHIPS IN SOUP DOESN'T COME WITH RICE OR TORTILLA NOT AT ALL...

Been here several times but did not want to rate it according to one visit for one reason. Food is totally awesome, but the servers have an attitude (almost like an entitlement) everytime I have visited. My guests don't understand spanish. Servers INSIST on replying in spanish and not communicate in english. This is not polite to the guests at my table. The servers only bring the food and drink but never return to check up. That's okay because we expect this kind of routine now. This has been the case the past 4 times. I feel the cooks are the unsung heroes. We may return but I am sure the restaurant will benefit from our business much more than the servers will. UPDATE: (Aug10,2025 9am: table 55 server Ashley). Took three years to try one more time. Ordered Menudo breakfast. The onions and lemons were smelling foul. The raw onions were clearly sour and translucent. Told Ashley and she did not replace them. She never came back to refill coffee or ask us anything until we were done eating. She wasn't mean, but very snooty like and had zero eye contact. Most of the time she was chatting with coworkers rolling silverware in napkins. I had to get up and go to her for service. I do not recommend this place unless you want foul smelling food and...

I'm actually going to upgrade ya'll to 5 stars bc you deserve it! Tbh this is our first choice to go eat when we visit San Antonio. Also, I love the tortillas & actually eat most of my beans & rice on the plate...so that's saying something! I just read a complaint from another customer re: a problem with her bill and that prompted me to write this. Bc I also had an incident last visit when we ordered a second side of sliced avocados. We were already 3/4's done with our food when we ordered them so it wasn't a huge deal to us. We just let it go & made sure to check our bill before paying to make sure we weren't charged. As I scanned the bill I saw that we had been charged for 2 orders & as she came to collect the payment I showed her the mistake. She took my card & paid it up front then immediately came back to the table to apologize for forgetting the side. She showed me the revised bill with the correction made & my new total. Problem solved in less than 5mins & with a smile! I know we all have bad days or make mistakes but I still wanted to share my experience with the service I received that...
