On Friday the 13th, 05/13/2022 at about 9:00pm my fiancĆ© decided she was hungry. Sitting on our couch she looked online for different cuisines. She asked me ā€What do you want?ā€ I wasn’t about to be the blame for a bad decision so I left the choice to her. She gave me two options, hamburgers or hotdogs, in the back of my mind I’m thinking ā€œwell we possibly have both of those hereā€ so no money spent.

Of course I was wrong, so to the Lexus we go to find our dinner. In the Lexus she says ā€œso what do you want?ā€ Again, not about to be the blame for a bad decision and the possibility of a attitude for the evening I retort ā€œJust put in the location of where you want to goā€. Lo and behold the decision she made was Hotdogs and the location…The Dogfather!

Neither one of us had been there before and so this was gonna be a new experience for both of us. When we arrived and walked in we were greeted by a young lady that asked us if we had been there before. We both said ā€œnoā€. She then pointed to a big blackboard with a handwritten menu behind here. The menu was easy to understand and very legible. There were hamburgers and hotdogs and even hotdogs that could be made into hamburgers! I was confused as to some ingredients like the 4 pepper chili and ā€œpink sauceā€ and asked her what they were and she really couldn’t explain them either (smh).

Nevertheless, I ordered a standard bacon wrapped hotdog with 4 pepper chili and cheese and fried pickles. My fiancƩ got the Elote Hot dog. The food came out in about 7 mins tops!

1st impression from the presentation of the food was amazing! 1st bite of the fried pickles dipped in their delicious JalapeƱo Ranch was delectable! First bite into the hotdog, mind blowing!

The bacon was cooked perfectly, not too crispy yet not soggy either. The 4 pepper chili was perfect. It had just the right amount of goodness, savory with a touch of garlic I believe.

The bun was the best part in my opinion. I don’t know what they are made of but they are baked PERFECTLY! They compliment the hot dogs exquisitely. Actually, the food was so good I had to get up from my outdoor table and go seek management. I encountered ā€œRudyā€ who was busy working like a bee all over the place. Rudy has a beaming personality. No overbearing or obnoxious but humble and genuine.

I told him I was upset and he was extremely concerned and seemed confused. I told him I was upset because I wasn’t warned how good the food was when I was ordering. Rudy immediately smiled and said ā€œWe’ll we have the Blue Plateā€ pointing to the Diners Award given by a local television show signifying food excellence.

I didn’t see the award because it was kinda tucked away behind a television but once it was pointed out I could see it. Rudy told me he is FOH (Front of House) so I let him know how good everything was. I left The Dogfather with a full belly and piece of mind knowing I had THE BEST hotdog I ever ate in my life and that’s no exaggeration. Thanks Rudy for being the epitome of a great manager and your awesome personality melds perfectly with the food at...

Found my new favorite spot when working in the area. Lots to choose from, vegan, and none dairy options.

Update on July 1st : we went for dinner, and they were nothing but helpful and beyond friendly. Once again, the food was great. We'll be back again. We'll I was back again but my girl liked it a lot so mos defiantly be back.

7/3/23 dropped in with my mom for a couple of dogs of the week, macadelics w curly fries and some IPAs. Always cool ppls when I'm in, and we enjoyed the food. I've been looking forward to what y'all do next.

8/8/23 I've loved the tots alone before, they're good. But Spencer offered to get them loaded, and I was in a carefree mood and just said yes to whatever he suggested. Maaaan, those elote style Tots were fking awesome šŸ”„ and I enjoyed this week's dog of the week. The Chilaquiles Dog. Lol, no lie. I look at it for a second and thought to myself that it should've come with instructions on how to eat it correctly. Then, I just picked a side and tore away.

8/20/23 caught Jimmy The Gent! The pesto wasn't there as heavy as I hoped, but the burger was still awesome. I had to get curly fries because yall ruined tators for me. Haha, if it isn't loaded, elote style, I don't want them :/ Keep up the great work šŸ”„ R.I.P. James Burke

8/27/23 Last day for The Dog Days Of Summer. Picked up an Elote Dog

9/24/23 Dropped by for curly fries Asada style. I was waiting outside before opening like a crack head :)

10/8/23 I tried TOTally Loaded at 2 yesterday and dwam what a great burger šŸ”„ best burger I've ever had. But today, I was also curious about the Souper Grilled Cheese Dog. I liked it ALot. (Loyd Christmas quote) anyways I love basil and chedder, which is always great but topped but paired with bisque :) and the angus beef sausage, all worth it. Sadly, I'm going back into diet mode. but I'm claiming Dogfather as my spot for cheat day once a week. Which lines up with burger or dog of the week. Keep up the great work, and I'll see yall next week.

10/9/23 Tried the burger first thing Monday, and The Spice Was Right was awesome! It's spicy just right, not heavy or hurting.

11/28/23 visited recently with a friend from out of state, and we had to bring her in. Spencer was again awesome accommodating in answering all questions about allergies as we maneuvered the menu to find something right for her.

2/7/24 finally made it back by, and just in time to celebrate a little Mardi Gras w yall. I tried the Bobby Boucher's Gumbo Dog w a half side of Asada style Tots šŸ”„

2/21/24 The Burger Au Poivre was good, creative, and interesting. It wasn't better than others before, but from the overall meal, I think it was an off night. On a cool note, I was able to pick up a beanie while I was there.

10/30/24 it's been too long! But I couldn't let the Munster...

First things first, I canNOT emphasize enough how damn nice all the employees here were!! As soon as we walked in, the cashier was busy, but still greeted us. Then once available, we got the full rundown of what's on the menu, what's limited time, what everything looks like, modifications that can be made, etc. And so polite the whole damn time. Also a special shout-out to the kid with long hair, all smiles and made the place feel so inviting, not to mention very quick to take any trash, offer to get refills, etc. and even offering to help other employees "hey, want me to get that/how can I help/etc." SUCH a pleasant environment.

That being said, the place is TINY. There's like 3 tables including some stools at a bar that looks out the window. More outdoor seating is available, but of course that's very weather-dependent.

Onto the food! There are so many great and original ideas here! A dozen different ways to have a hot dog and nearly the entire menu can also be used to make a burger. The hot dog "bun" seemed like more grilled Texas toast which was an incredible choice. Smothered in delicious additions and condiments made a single hot dog very filling. And you know, for a hot dog place, the burger was FIRE šŸ”„ Genuinely a burger worth dying for, it was so damn good. Unfortunately it's a limited edition one so I was tempted to order another to go for later, but refrained šŸ˜†

I understand price is a factor and is what it needs to be. I just also don't want folks coming here and then getting sticker shock. Everything pictured here was over $50 (burger, dog, fries with extras, and all 3 desserts that were available at the time. Plus a drink).

I wish this place wasn't so far from me as I'd wanna come here ALL THE TIME (then again, maybe it's a good thing, else my...
