On 09-07-25, I visited Tia’s Tacos and purchased five tacos for a total of $6.62. I signed the receipt, took a photo for my records, and left. The following day, I noticed the posted charge was $7.62, reflecting an unauthorized $1 tip that I did not add.
This is the second time I have experienced this issue at this location. I normally visit the south side location and have never encountered such a problem there.
For clarity, I always leave a tip when I dine in; however, when I use the drive-through or pick up an order, I do not. Based on my records, it appears that receipts may be altered after customers leave, which is unacceptable.
When I called to report this, the manager repeatedly asked for my copy of the receipt. I explained that I would provide mine once they produced the original. My signed copy clearly shows no added tip. This response suggests there may be an awareness of the issue, which is concerning.
I respectfully request that this matter be investigated, addressed promptly, and resolved to ensure that no other customers experience unauthorized charges. If this issue continues, I will have no choice but to issue a formal letter of intent and pursue the matter further.
It is very disappointing to feel that I cannot fully trust a business to operate with transparency...

We had an amazing experience at Tía’s Taco Hut! We tried the Caldo de Pollo, Caldo de Res, and the Beef Puffy Taco Plate. Everything was flavorful and served hot and fresh.
The chips and salsa deserve a special shoutout: the chips were perfectly salted and the salsa had just the right amount of spice! Honestly, the best I’ve had anywhere.
The Caldo de Res was packed with tender cabbage, zucchini, potatoes, and carrots, so hearty and satisfying. The Caldo de Pollo had everything but the carrots, and both broths were rich and full of flavor.
The Beef Puffy Taco Plate was also a hit! Great seasoning, crispy tortillas (not soggy at all!), and included nicely cooked diced potatoes that added a unique touch.
Our server Zuriel made the whole experience even better. He was attentive, friendly, and very efficient. He also told us about their Happy Hour special from 3–7 PM, which includes $5 appetizers, $6.99 margaritas, and $2.50 beers. The Bean and cheese nachos were delicious! All great deals!
They also had Mexican pastries for just $1.50, which was a perfect sweet finish to the meal.
There are other locations in town, but I recommend this one for its cleanliness, larger dining area, and fantastic service. Definitely...
Read moreHaving seen Tia‘s tacos on the way to drop my daughter off at school in the mornings and then seeing other locations popping up I assume that the food here must be pretty good so this morning I decided to stop in especially because of the dollar 99 taco special so I drove in went to the drive-through and unfortunately all of the toggles were not $1.99 only four of them so that’s fine. I wanted a bacon and egg taco With strip bacon because I had originally been given a bacon taco with bits and pieces of what is called bacon so I went back in and they made me another taco. That was great. The taco actually had two strips of bacon perhaps a little bit too much egg but that taco was that taco was perfectly fine. I also ordered a chorizo and egg taco, which was very lackluster. The taco seemed to have way too much moisture as though everything, and it was waterlogged the chorizo had no flavor whatsoever, and if I had not looked in inside the taco eating it, I never would’ve known that the taco was a chorizo and egg taco. That’s how much flavor it lacked . So my first experience here at Tia tacos will more than likely be my last. I don’t think the food that I’ve tried so far...
