The very first time I went here was about 2 to close to 3 yrs ago and the chorizo with egg was excellent I went back a couple more times throughout the year and for some reason the food just declined I got the same order of chorizo and egg and it was terrible. there's a young gentleman that works the register who's been there since day one who's not very friendly at all and is quick to just give you the most uncomfortable feeling if you complain about anything so I didn't even want to go back after the 2nd time because the way he responded was very rude he acted like I was attacking his character but I was just having a valid complaint and he took offense to it so I had not been there in a long time since then so I decided to try again yesterday which was Wednesday July 26th and it's been over a year and the bean and cheese tacos were terrible they had this big tortilla which tortilla was good but the beans tasted awful and they had too much lard in them in the cheese was like glue but the worst part was the taco folded like a taquito cuz there was barely anything in there it but the beans with lard just dripping and the cheese being like glue was just awful and I couldn't go back and complain because the same guy young gentleman with short black hair always working the register always working the drive-thru was there and I was like I'm not even going to go and try to talk to his guy I just will never go back again. They also took away their buy three tacos for $3.99 and that's one of the main reasons I used to like going there but I failed to ask as I was buying the three tacos and it came out to $8 which I was not really thinking about it until I got home and when I saw the food it prompted me to call and ask about the deal and why I paid almost $8 for three bean and cheese terrible tacos. I called and he answered the phone of course and I asked him if they had that deal maybe they made a mistake and he was just the same kind of rude way without saying anything but no we don't and and I kind of paused and said okay well thanks and he just hung up the phone like it was the same low customer service experience that I feel he lacks. now I'm not saying all the food is bad but I'm definitely just going by my experience and the customer service that he provides is just awful. If you're going to be serving food in the community that is going to help you thrive that is not the way you treat customers now when you first meet him he smiles and he's really quick and he tries to be you know be smooth like he's doing a good job but if anything comes up with customer service you'll see what I'm talking about. hopefully one day as he gets older he'll realize that service goes a long way when you're dealing with the restaurant business. I was never rude with the guy I've been in the customer service industry a long time myself and I know what it takes you have to be courteous and give them the benefit of the doubt to make sure you have and promote a great business and customer service experience so I'm not just going to go in there and start yelling at the guy and trying to berate him I was just making a valid complaint the very first time. I ended up driving down Perrin Beitel and found another Taco Vallarta place and that was was...
Read moreA few months ago, I found this place. I tried it for the first time and their tacos are amazing. I’ve been a repeated customer and even put other people on to their food! I came Wednesday 8/6/25 to purchase 3 bean and cheese tacos. When I got home and started to eat the tacos I noticed that they were hard like they been sitting and under a warmer for quite a while and one was severely burnt. I called immediately. At first, I was speaking to a woman but I don’t think she understood me very well due to our language barrier. She ended up passing the phone to a gentleman that could understand me a bit more. I told him the problem and he said that they had a problem with their thing to make the tortillas or something. He told me to come back up there and he’ll replace the tacos free of charge. I was pulling a double the next day at work and was going to be in for the night, which I explained and he said okay I can come whenever and get it. Before I got off the phone, I asked for his name. He didn’t give it to me which is strange, because I repeatedly asked for it but he just told me that he’ll remember so just come whenever. I showed up 8/8/25 a couple minutes before 1 pm to explain the situation and even showed a picture for evidence. The girl, which she wrote her name on the receipt, said since only took a picture of one I can only get one. I asked her is she the manager, which she said yes than later in the conversation said there was no manager there and that I’ll have to come when either the girl who was my cashier on 8/6 was there or when their manger was there at 2 pm 8/9. I told her well can I speak to the guy I was talking to and she said all the guys were cooks and none of them deal with customers. It’s sad cause I really do love their food but this will definitely be my last time spending a dime one them. Her customer service skills were very poor and...
Read moreThe worst chips & salsa! I MISS the warm & sometimes hot (in temperature) chips & phenomenal salsa available at MANY restaurants in Houston. 🙁 There's no place, yet, in San Antonio that has great chips & salsa. The guacamole here tasted FRESH but I'm not sure if it is mixed w/ sour cream. I say this because I wanted to stop eating it despite the fresh taste and I've never experienced wanting to quit eating guacamole before it was gone. It was ordered for the table so I don't know if on the menu it is stated that it's more than avocado. I had the tortilla soup. YUM! It is a BIG serving & tiring to eat but worth it. It was chunky with lots if big corn tortillas strips. It's different from any other tortilla soup I've had not better, different. I definitely recommend it. It's a meal on its own. Another thing ordered for the table was tortillas. Sadly these too were awful. Not disgusting tasting, just bad in general. I didn't finish one whole tortilla, not because it was big. They were rubbery, kind of coming apart, no real flavor. The tortillas were confusing. They made me miss my Mom's tortillas. I didn't get her tortilla making gene's. 🙁 Our waitress was great! Wish I knew her name. My friends who frequent this place were very happy with her because they said the service there is usually served by rude staff. Rude restaurant staff though is the norm in SA, there are very few exceptions so yes it is wonderful when those few pleasant people show up at your table. Our waitress was simply courteous & good at her job. That's all it takes, they don't have to be over the top happy acting or fake nice...just be courteous, attentive & smile occasionally & of course get your...
