This rating is specifically for their service. Usually all the cupcakes & cakes I’ve ordered from here are good. The location is well kept but they could do so much more to inside to make it nicer seeing as they are a Cupcakery and nothing else. When I first visited this business right after they opened everything was great including service! That has changed a lot. Their customer service and attitudes have deteriorated greatly over time. When there are a lot of options out there it is one’s customer service that differentiates them from others. I know that the owner and staff of this business will be offended by this critique but it’s not meant to be antagonistic, it’s meant to be helpful. The product is good but if your staff can not handle giving good, helpful and respectfully polite service then the product quality does not matter. Now when I go, which is much less often, I feel lucky that who ever is helping me is not being out right rude. I bought some very important milestone cakes from your business which means that they were special to me and my family. I had hoped y’all would be my go to cake business and I would order all my cakes from you. I no longer want to do that. HEB bakery has better customer serv in person and over the phone than y’all do and that’s saying something. When I call who ever answers the phone just says “hi” after a long weird silence as if I’m calling a friend instead of a business and half the time their tone sounds as if this is the last place on the planet they’d rather be talking to me. It may not be all employees but even one can ruin your business’s reputation. But I know it’s more than just one person. You do charge more and so customers expect a higher level of service not below par. I hope y’all really think about this and learn to work together to offer a better experience to your customers knowing that they are the ones that keep your business going and pay your paychecks. That is what I always remember when I help my clients and customers. It’s not easy, customer service is rough and it wears on you which reflects eventually in the way you handle customers. I’m a senior receptionist for a veterinarian. Pet owners are very demanding but it’s b/c they love their pets. My clients a make it possible for me to pay my bills and take care of my family and so they always have my utmost respect. And most of them treat me in kind. You get what you give and there...
Read moreMy husband bought me a half dozen cupcakes on Tuesday. One of the cupcakes was strawberry, & it had a fresh strawberry on the top. On Wednesday the strawberry had mold. I called the shop, & explained the situation to the worker. I told them I did not want my money back. I just asked if I could get another cupcake. The lady on the phone said they bake their cupcakes fresh every day and it was impossible for the cupcake to have mold. She then said she would talk to the owner. So I hear the owner in the background saying more or less the same thing as the lady on the phone. I was floored. So I say I receive that you bake your cupcakes fresh every day. I never said the cupcake was not fresh. I said the fresh strawberry on the top had mold after a day. Long story short the owner said it was impossible even though I had proof & a receipt to prove that not only was it possible but it happened. He refused to replace my cupcake. I will not be going back. I can appreciate that people try to get over on people/businesses all the time. However I did not want money I just wanted another cupcake. Perhaps I would have felt better about the situation if he had not said it...
Read moreThis review is based on my customer service experience. This was my first time visiting and after seeing the variety of cupcakes I was really interested in trying them. I gave my order to cashier and she begins to take down cupcakes that were sitting out in the open uncovered on display. I asked if that was all they had and she replied they had more in the back but her tone was if it was an inconvenience to go in the back. I'm thinking why would she not want to give me fresh cupcakes. I would think that had to be a health code violation and if not it's just plain gross. Starbucks stop giving you food items directly from the display because sanitary reasons. I would think that would be standard practice. So the store system is down and I have to pay cash. I'm standing there watching her struggle to do the math for change. I started to help her and she told me I messed her up. Again I'm the customer. She pulls out phone to figure out change. I was so taken back I haven't even tried the cupcakes.
UPDATE: The cup cakes are really good. I will go back but I would like them to work on their...
