Update - As it had been awhile, we returned to Alfredo's today. The food was still consistently good and they neighborhood was still a disaster. However the service we received, was, to my surprise, nothing short of terrible. The place was at less the 1/4 capacity, so we couldn't figure out why we were completely ignored for 10, until I had to catch our servers attention to ask for waters. A couple minutes later she brought water and took our appetizer order. She returned with our appetizers, took our main order and she did not speak to us again. Towards the end of our 5 person meal, we were out of water and needed things to pack up. Our waiteess was in the rear of the restaurant, so I had to catch the attention of the hostess, who had been on her cell phone for most of our visit. She came over and was helpful providing bags, containers, etc. for our party, however her patience did get her patience tried by two of our elderly mothers asking 3 times for a trip to the back for different items, lids, bags, to go cups. After I paid and tipped only half of what I normally leave, on the way out of the door I caught the hostess, who said the owner wasn't there. I just let her know in a positive, calm manner that we had been ignored, but the food was great. I leave all of these long-winded details so as to be sure and be fair and accurate as to my perspective. In closing and making a long story short, My family and I will not be returning there for dine in. It's a shame, as I've been going there since I was 18 years old, but there are other, customer focused options.
The food is as good as I remember it as a kid; the neighborhood is not. Whatever you do, don't drive your best car, wear jewelry, carry a wallet or have your gold teeth in or you may be in for trouble. Also, make sure that your typhus and TB vaccinations...

Read moreAlfredo’s Pizza & Pasta in San Bernardino was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. The menu was promising, with photos that made the dishes look delicious and descriptions that gave us high expectations. The food even looked decent when it arrived at the table, nicely plated and presented well. But the moment we took our first bite, everything changed.
The taste was shockingly bad. Nothing had flavor. It was bland, overcooked, and tasted like it had been sitting out or reheated. The pasta was mushy, the sauce tasted watered down and artificial, and the shrimp was rubbery and lifeless with barely any seasoning or freshness. We tried to give it a chance, thinking maybe one of the dishes would be better, but every plate we ordered was just as bad. It was difficult to even finish the meal, let alone enjoy it.
What made it worse is that the staff didn’t seem to care. There was no effort to ask how things were, and when we did mention the food was disappointing, there was no apology or attempt to fix it.
We came in ready to enjoy a good Italian meal, but left completely unsatisfied and frustrated. Unfortunately, nothing about our experience would make us want to return or recommend this place to anyone. If you care about quality food and flavor, Alfredo’s is not it! Stay away is...
