This is one that makes me come back to reviewing. This is one that is either so good I need to sing it's praise or worrisome to where I should let others know.
Let me say first, there were families, people really.here filling spots and I would never take away their experience. Some people very much love this place and the reviews show it. I'd never take that from anyone.
However. This place served some of the dryest, hardest eel ive ever had in my life. It was closer to beef jerky than eel. Eel isn't popular, I get that, maybe I should have gotten a popular item. Their hand rolls had some of the hardest sea weed wraps to where you really need to twist your head and neck like a dog on a chew toy to tear it off. The water was noooot the best, I wouldn't wanna fault them on that though.
After a while, you feel like you're eating to "make your money back" off of the 35 dollar price tag, instead of eating to actually enjoy the food.
The service wouldn't even have been that bad, however my party has a tradition where we like to get sashimi where we go and that would have just been an additional price which we were fine with... But the waitress asked if "maybe that would be... To expensive? For us?" I can get making sure we understand it would be an additional price, but when phrased like that, it just makes me wonder if it's more than just "price" and more of "judging if we have that type of money based on our physical traits" rubbed me the wrong way, so I'm adding it here cause it did make me feel some kind of way.
So with all that said, I'd never take away from what others have or have gotten from their experience. Some rave about this place up and down and by all means, enjoy to your heart's content. From this experience, I just can't see myself ever going back. Food wasn't too great, rolls had badly proportioned ingredients so the flavor is thrown off, and the financial questions that... id just say for next time "it's not what you say, but how...
Read moreToday I went for lunch with my husband for the first time. I had seen some good reviews on google about them so I was already planning on going with a group of friends on 12/11 for lunch. My husband saw the ad too on his phone and suggested we go try it today. I ordered 2 all-you-can-eat. The waitress took my order and repeated after me, 2 AYCE. When I placed my order from the AYCE menu, she never once told me that I had to write my order on the printed paper menu. At the end of lunch, I asked for the check and she charged me ala carte. So I asked why and she insisted I didn't tell her AYCE and she said I had to order from the paper menu but she didn't even tell me I had to do that. I ordered from their laminated AYCE menu. Another waitress changed the charge for me but told me "only this one time, next time cannot change" but instead of $19.95 for lunch x 2, she charged me $25.95 for dinner x 2 and when I asked again, another gal who said she was the manager said there is nothing they can do as the computer goes by the time. I got there at 2.30pm before they switched to dinner price after 3.00pm. I told her I had planned on bringing my friends for lunch next week but now I'm not sure whether I want to go back. She said "I will remember you, next time you come, I will try to do something for you". Why can't you do something now and make a change on the charge? Any other American restaurant manager has the ability to make an override, who are they kidding? I run a retail store and I can do overrides when I'm at the store! The food was good, we both liked it but their attitude and customer service left little to be desired! Not sure if I want to go back. It's not a matter of money, it's about ethics and...
Read moreI was asked if I wanted to be seated in the back, I said yes being that the place was full and I had my baby with me. I was seated in a corner, my son and I just stood there trying to figure out how it was going to work with us two, a carseat and a highchair. The waitress just kept bringing menus, we were not even seated ...still standing, and were asked what we wanted to drink. It felt very rushed and frustrating for us. Anyway, we finally just squished ourselves in the corner and made it work. The first male waiter was very rude. The table next to us had just gotten some ice cream served and offered it to my son because they were so full. My son said yes and took it while we waited on our food. The male waiter goes and takes the plate from in front of my son and gives it back to the table next to us and packs it for them and tells us, "you will get your ice cream after your meal!" Ewww, what an unpleasant attitude to have and rude thing to do, I was appalled . Also after our first round of sushi, we just sat there waiting for someone to put our order in for the second round, and nothing. I had to ask a waitress to please take my order. The waitress that was supposed to be attending us would come after we were already helped by someone else, she did keep refilling our drinks though, and was very polite. Overall, the staff was very friendly, especially the chefs. The one rude male waiter was the only problem, way to welcome someone. Some of the sushi was good like the cucumber roll, the OMG roll and the vegetable roll. The other sushi was blah. That was just my experience my first time. I would of left a bigger tip had it been a different welcoming but, don't think I would...
