I am a retiree who has volunteered for years with the city of San Bernardino every Tuesday and Thursday. On both of those days I have visited the Subway at 707 W 2nd Street for my lunch meal for over the most previous year. During every visit I order the exact same items and have my 6 inch sandwich contents to include Avocado prepaired the same exact way. Today, Tuesday, 30 March 2021, I had a horrific negative experience during my visit. I ordered my usual sandwich with chips and drink. When she gave me the cost ($8.00 and change) I asked her if she had added the Avocado because the amount was too low. She checked the register, said "No". That was the third consecutive time in a 3 day period of visits that I had to ask that the charge for the Avocado be added. She recalculated the total and gave me a new price of $10.00 and change. Again, I told her that was an incorrect amount. She said the $1.25 for the Avocado brought it up to that total. I corrected her by saying the Avocado was .75 cents. She argued with me that it was $1.25. At that point she left the register and went to another employee who was preparing sandwiches on the line. This person also informed me that the Avocado charge was $1.25. She added it had been that amount for several months due to a price increase. I asked her to show me where the price increase was posted. She ignored my request so I then asked for the Manager. She informed me that she was the Manager and insisted the $1,25 charge was correct. When I then asked for the information to contact the owner she informed me that she was charging me for my meal without the cost of Avocado. This location has been falling into disrepair for a number of months. It is surprising to see the same employees there 2 weeks in a row. One of the special mixed juice dispensers has been consistently empty for over 2 weeks. Providing dried Oregano to be added to sandwiches stopped months ago. Last week, shortly after opening, there was no ice available. And the coup de gras is even thinking about charging $1.25 for 4 very thin slivers of an Avocado that has not had a .99 cents price change in every market in over 2 years is blatant price gouging. I am disappointed to see that so many other customers are apparently so satisfied with such...
Read moreTerrible service I received today. When I walked in nobody noticed I was even there. I waited about 2 minutes before someone who seem to be the manager walked out. This just based on her appearance (no uniform) and the way she talked to the employees. She walked out from the back and yelled at one of the employees, “ There’s a customer here”. Then she walked out the store. Few seconds later walked back in grabbed the tip jar took money out and told the female associate there’s your tip. Left coins on the counter. There was a Hispanic male who hardly spoke any English and a Hispanic female. They both seem fairly new. I saw they had a new wrap “the new turkey bacon guacamole wrap” and I asked questions about the wrap and the ingredients and the female associate had no idea ?? She just said ummm ppl just put whatever they want on it. I love subway and I eat here 3 to 4 times a week due to my busy work schedule so I’m always visiting new locations so I know that every sandwich comes with its own recipe and you can switch up the ingredients however you like. When there’s a new product out and it looks good I always tell the associates that help me to make it exactly like that. For example Subway Turkey, Bacon & Guacamole Wrap Ingredients turkey breast, applewood bacon, provolone cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, ranch sauce. She had no idea. It’s obviously not her fault but the manager’s fault who has not trained the associate. She made my wrap and it was just a hot mess! Everything was coming out the wrap, it was falling apart. The tortilla wrap was hard and cold, I asked the male associate to look at it and he didn’t even offer to make me a new one he just warmed it up and made it even worse he wrapped it or should I say rolled it up at that point in the same wrapper pretty much in pieces. I smiled, l grabbed it said thank you and walked out. This is ridiculous worse experience at one of my favorite restaurants...
Read moreIt was around 8:00-15 not sure the exact time and the date today August 8 and the lady not only had just walked in late, but told me they were closed as she proceeded to go in and lock the door behind her. This isn’t the first time this same lady tells me it’s closed. She has a pattern of being late and keeping it closed. One time she went inside, clocked in (walked to the register which is why I know she clocked in) and remained to leave it locked until she was ready to attend me which was almost 15-20 minutes later and made me late to work. Not only that, I was waiting in my car right in front of the door and she seen me but when a couple knocked on the door, she opened the door and helped them out first. She seen me waiting patiently for her and couldn’t have the consideration to tell them she would attend me first since I was already waiting on her. So unprofessional and...
