Mar Y Mar — Restaurant in San Bruno

Monday night: walked in around 8pm and it wasn't busy. Staff were very friendly. Prices and taste are even better!

Got 5 tacos, ($3 each) and a side of beans ($5). And a 23 ounce of Pacifico on draft for $6. You cant beat this price for a big glass of beer on tap!

Anyways, the chorizo, al pastor and carnitas tacos were freaking amazing. It's been a while that a taco made me say "wow" out loud. These were jam packed with flavor.

Free chips and decently spicy flavored salsa. A big juke box that locals were playing good Mexican music on and gets kinda loud, which is fun but not if you want a conversation with someone I bet. I was alone for a work trip so it was awesome!

Definitely coming back if...

It's both a sit in restaurants and a bar, both geared towards Mexican clients. I was the only one who unfortunately didn't speak Spanish, but of course they switched to English with me without a problem. I took food to go, and I wouldn't mind sitting there with friends but maybe not with my family. There were some families though, but maybe because it was at 9 on Friday night the clients were more of groups of young men. I took shrimp dishes and I liked the food, and I would like to go back to order one of the fish dishes which seemed very nice but were too big for the time in the evening. Eating at this restaurant is like transporting yourself to South if the border. The atmosphere and the food is very Mexican, and so are most of the clientele. When busy, with the live music playing, the place can be very noisy, and service can be a bit show. Not for the faint of heart, but a joyful atmosphere for those who can hang. The drinks are very good, but they have shrunk from what they used to be, and aren't as good as they were (Ie. Cadillac Margaritas). It's street parking only, and now the city of San...
