If you wanna eat good and special call in ahead because chef phong is the one who can prepare it. . So I snooped on Instagram for a while and have been wanting to come here with friends so I found the right day. Called a day ahead and ordered the off menu which is featured on their Instagram. . Ordered a day ahead of time for the tom hawk steak which is 3lbs for 150 bucks. A 70 lobster pho which the lobster looked like it was 8 to 10 lbs easily. 60 bucks for the tom yum crab fried rice. . Tom hawk steak - this thing was served on a cutting board. The meat was pink and medium rare and that's how everyone liked it. The meat itself was very tender and the meat was lightly salted. The chef made us some chimichurri sauce which is so bomb. There was no cons and it was worth every bite and penny for this order. A must try for the steak lovers. Let's say we were all blown away. . Lobster pho - not sure but the lobster was huge like it was 6 lbs to 10 lbs easily. The pho broth was made with love and hours. It was with chicken bones and lobster shells. The lobster tail was opened and in the soup. Alone with fresh pho noodles and quail eggs. The broth was very light, flavorful, sweet, and savory. It was everyone's favorite. . Tom yum crab fried rice - Dungeness crab and tom yum flavor infused in the fried rice was a hit and totally sold me. Its unique and it was so flavorful with bites of lemon grass flavor. . We also got stuff from the menu which we had sticky chicken wings. The wings are way better than pok pok is what he says. The chicken wings is a must get. When we return 2 orders please. . Filet mignon DiCaprio - raw thin sliced beef with crushed peanuts and fresh squeezed lime juice. This dish is a fan favorite during the summer. The dish is well presented. And I can easily eat this who dish by myself. It was a great started / appetizer. . Bun bo hue - definitely can taste the ox tail bones and beef bones in the rich flavor broth. The broth is a little mild spicy and has a great kick to it. The soup was served piping hot which is a must. It also came with fresh crispy skin duck on a slate plate. The duck was not oily but when you take a bite the skin has a slight crisp noise when bite into it. Different type of bun bo hue from what i have had before. This is a authentic one for sure. . Overall food and service was great. We ended the night with needing a wheel chair to wheel each one of us out. All the dishes named above fed 5 grown adults and one child so you know we had a great time. We will return definitely without doubt because chef phong puts sweat and tears and love into his food making sure everything is satisfying to his customer. Thanks...
Read moreThe chef has brought in creative and fun dishes to Vietnamese cuisine in this amazing San Bruno restaurant. The most interesting part about the previous statement is that the place isn't located in San Jose or Sacramento--a haven known for Vietnamese cuisine.
The interior is clean, feng shui'd up and ready to accommodate large gatherings of friends and families. The vibe is calm and the neighboring conversations from nearby tables seem to liven the atmosphere up. I like it already.
The menu shouts brevity and simplicity and says you're here for Vietnamese cuisine with a high probability of an appetite for Pho. We order the duck garlic noodles, oxtail pho and beef pho. Shortly thereafter, some shouts in the back, clanging of pots, sizzling sounds of something on the wok and voila: our order appears before our hungry eyes (photos attached for yr enjoyment of course.)
Oh how cool! The duck garlic noodles are presented beautifully on a stone plate (or was it wood?). The oxtail and beef pho were producing a smell so intoxicating I just about fainted (but I didn't, I swear!). Well, maybe it's a gimmick, let me just tr--OMG IT'S SO GOOD!!!
The reviews were all just so RIGHT! The broth is so full and the the taste of hours and hours of simmering of the core ingredients seem to induce a dopamine frenzy like no other as you enjoy the bowl of pho. The favorite smell and taste of garlic on the roasted duck are infused perfectly together and what better way to eat it, but with some noodles? Hats off to Chef Nguyen and his team for putting out their best--it really does show.
The end.

Read moreFood was good but they don’t have any printed menus and force you to order through their website with your phone. I discovered several bugs in their online ordering system and they just shrugged it off saying they already know these bugs. For every question you have about the food you have to waive the waiter over which is very annoying. In addition their front door is broken in a way that I as an well built adult had to push very hard to at least crack it open a bit. My 9 year old got squeezed between the door and the frame and had a hard time to get out. I witnessed multiple other guests also struggling with the door. As I pointed the broken door out to the staff they just replied that the door has been broken for a while but the landlord refuses to fix it. Huh??? They place was also not well heated so that all guests kept wearing their jackets. On top they play some super cheesy asian pop songs at a volume that made it quite hard to have a conversation. Even my kids who usually don’t mind loud music complained about it. This place offers solid Vietnamese food but they don’t care much about their...
